Its still snowing ........I haven't seen snow like this for years!
I wish I could post photos on here so that you can see how beautiful it looks..........but beautiful won't get me to work in the morning!
If it carries on like this I won't be going anywhere tomorrow either...I'm sure we must have about 6" now.
One good thing is I've listed 11 new items on ebay and I'm not quite ebayed out yet so I'll try and get a few more on after I've had my cup of tea.
DH is a bit worried now that he won't be able to get to work tonight which means either they'll have to call someone in someone who lives closer to cover for him, or the ones on the afternoon shift will have to stay on till someone can get in to relieve them.
What's the weather like elsewhere? I think the whole country is pretty much the same today!Total debt at LBM £26k+Total debt now £16,494.40Tesco CC 11/2/11 Total - £1,387.20 - Now £00 -
Hi Snowdonlily, weather is pants in Birmingham too, pouring down with snow and whilst main roads are not too bad, side roads are lethal. Don't think its quite reached London yet as my colleague has just left London and its blue skies!!
Make the best of being snowed in, its certainly good for the ebaying!!

Hi spendtoomuch........still snowing here!
Feeling very pleased with myself tonight, we had a lovely tea made out of leftovers. I used a pack of ready made puff pasty I had in the fridge (slightly out of day but I didn't tell anyone), potatoes and leeks leftover from Christmas and the remains of the lamb leftover from Sunday to make a lovely leek, potato and lamb pie. For pudding we had a luxury Christmas pud I won in a raffle just before Christmas!
Who'd have thought I'd get such a kick out of being frugal! If we're snowed in tomorrow I'll have to get the breadmaker out!
Thanks to the snow, I've also had a no spend day today and now have 34 items listed on ebay.Total debt at LBM £26k+Total debt now £16,494.40Tesco CC 11/2/11 Total - £1,387.20 - Now £00 -
OH just phoned to let me know he made it into work safely. He says he passed at least 40 cars abandoned by the side of the road (all that on a 7 mile journey). Its not snowing now but its freezing cold.
Just checked ebay...........plenty of watchers but no new bids yet! Fingers crossed, if there are a lot of people off work tomorrow.......we might have a lot of bored people looking for bargains!Total debt at LBM £26k+Total debt now £16,494.40Tesco CC 11/2/11 Total - £1,387.20 - Now £00 -
Good Morning everyone!
Didn't make it into work today either. We had more snow overnight, but it seems to be thawing a bit this morning. DH managed to get stuck on his way home from work this morning, so his 15 minute journey took him over an hour........he wasn't a happy bunny after working all night! Have to try and make it to the supermarket this afternoon, but I'm going to wait till DH gets up.......I'm not brave enough to chance it on my own!
Aiming for another NSD day today (other than the food shop if I get there), and so far have stuck to my diet, starving hungry now though! DS2 and DS3 off today too.
Just checked ebay, one of my items ending today has sne bid on it and a book I listed yesterday also has a bid. If I can get to town later, will have about 5 items to post.....keeping my fingers crossed!
Also, got a migraine this morning (too much internet and too much stress........"will I or won't I get to work today?").

We managed to make it to the supermarket this afternoon......(hubby's car was already at the bottom of the lane as he failed to make it home this morning). I tried to be good and work out a meal plan for the week.........but I forgot to take into account the teenage boy factor!
DS2 and DS3 had their mates around this afternoon for some sledging in the fields behind our house ....they came in for a snack and before you know it a whole loaf and a big pack of bacon has bitten the dust! Its like fighting a losing battle here sometimes!!
Two more items sold on ebay this afternoon. You can never tell whats going to happen.........I had one item with no watchers and one with 10 watchers. The one with no watchers went for £19.99 and the one with all the watchers failed to sell!
I've also been a good girl diet wise today.
No more snow today, so if all goes well, its back to work tomorrow.....yayyy!!Total debt at LBM £26k+Total debt now £16,494.40Tesco CC 11/2/11 Total - £1,387.20 - Now £00 -
I've made it into work today, the driving was quite hairy in places though!
My biggest challenge so far today, has been to avoid all the choccies and biscuits that seem to have appeared here over Christmas. Having a NSD is going to be very easy.....its too icy to go anywhere - a work colleague spent last night in A&E after his elderly neighbour fell and hurt his knee, so I'm taking no chances!!
Second biggest challenge will be to try and not spend too much time on here!!

Not much to report today really. I've sold another two items on ebay, but can't really get motivated to list any more this evening! Work was very quiet today. In my job, the weather can affect how many customers we have. At least I had peace to work on the staff rotas for the next few months. My place of work is open 7 days a week, with double time on Saturdays and Sundays, so now that I've finally woken up to the fact that I need to pay off my debts (or risk getting in deeper and deeper) it was really tempting to put myself down for every weekend for the foreseeable future!! Don't worry, I couldn't do it.........I made sure we all have our fair share!
Its 10 days now since I handed that wallet into the Police Station.........I wonder if anyone's claimed it yet!
Oh yes, I've joined the 10K in 2010 thread. Its a HUGE challenge, but if I can keep on ebaying, and not spending, I should manage it......or if I don't, I should come quite close. The thing is, I can only overpay on two of my debts, the HSBC loan has fixed payments, so once I've paid these two off, I'm going to start squirrelling money away into my ISA (current balance £2.21!!).Total debt at LBM £26k+Total debt now £16,494.40Tesco CC 11/2/11 Total - £1,387.20 - Now £00 -
I had to spend some money this morning....it was my turn to buy coffee and milk for the office. I've also bought a Post Office Gift Card and put £10 on it. My plan is to put £10 on it each week (when I can afford it) and hopefully by Christmas I should have about £450 to spend! We'll see if I can keep it up! I'll put it in my signature so I can watch it accumulate.
I'm at work today, the roads are still frozen but no more snow so far. DS3 back to school and DS2 back to college.
I've updated my signature, I only lost 1 lousy pound this week. I've been fairly good all week, haven't had any wine since Monday, So I thought I would have lost more than 1lb! I haven't done much exercise....I really like walking, but my village is like one big ice rink at the moment and I don't really like broken bones!
I had to do the banking this morning, and stupidly left my gloves at home. I wasn't going to buy a new pair, so by the time I got back, I couldn't feel my finger tips. The temp according to my car this morning was -12!
