    Crazy!!!

Mine was, can you tell me the length of the belt-fair enough- it was size medium and would fit a size 10-12, so i measured it and sent the info on. Next question, can you tell me what the length is at when done up at the first and last holes of the belt? I sent the measurements back, nice and polite.

    They didn't bid.

The answer i wanted to send was something along the lines of ' dear.... I think you logged onto the wrong web page, this is not ask the net a porter fashion advisor a question, this is ebay. May I suggest a personal shopper? Jeez!

Other one was for a silver bracelet with some little diamonte stones in. starting price 99p. Question...'what is the length of the bracelet the height, width, what are the dimensions of each stone?'

Clearly these people are shopping for their clothes on the internet for a reason because they couldn't get a sales assistant to answer that much in depth detail for them.

Guy goes to order cup of tea in a cafe ' can you tell me if the tea leaves were freshly picked this morning? and can I see the dew that was captured in the pickers clothing as they brushed the leaves?'

Anyway sorry to take your page hostage. I'm starting to feel less of a person because I don't ask so many questions when I buy an item.

me 'hmmm that's pretty, nice bright colours, I can wear it in the summer. Does it fit me?, (most likely a bit of a squeeze, but promise myself I'll lose the weight) go to till and hand money over. Done.

Thrifty.................you're so right..........I think a lot of people have too much time on their hands :rotfl::rotfl:

I had a huge row with DH last night. He thinks the pay cut between my present job and the new job (if I get it) is too much and that I'm making a HUGE mistake even thinking about changing jobs. I've been thinking about it so much today, I've given myself a migraine :(

To confuse me even more, my immediate superior and his superior want to meet with me next week to discuss how we can improve how things are run and how we can improve the workplace to attract more customers...........something I've been trying to get them to do for months!

Right, I'm going to go and draw up a list of pros and cons and for once I'm going to think things through before I do anything..............one of the reasons I'm here is that I haven't been thinking things through before jumping in with both feet!!

Ok here we go.......pros and cons of moving jobs:-

    Pros
    1. Travelling time down to 30 minutes from 70
    2. No working weekends
    3. New boss
    4. Fresh new challenge
    5. Petrol spends down from about £45 per week to about £25
    6. No uniform.
    7. I'd get my social life back.

    Cons
    1. I'd miss the people I work with.
    2. I'd lose the weekend overtime which accounts for about £200 a month.
    3. I've calculated the difference in wages to be about £4,000 per year before OT
    4. I'd be stuck in an office all day.
    5. With regard to the new boss........it could be out of the frying pan and into the fire!!
    6. Lots more shops in the town where the new job would be based, which means more temptation to shop.
    7. No uniform means I'd be spending more on clothes.
    8. I wouldn't be in charge!

Hummm.............when you look at it like that........DH has a point (but there's no way I'm telling him that!). If I want to pay off my debt sooner £4,000 is a huge amount of money to lose each year.

I'll sleep on it tonight..........but I've got a feeling I've already made up my mind. I hate it when he's right :(

Good day at work today..............the sun was shining and I live in beautiful part of the world :o

I got a new client at work this morning. She used to be a client of the firm I have an interview with next week, but she's decided to leave them and come to us because she isn't happy with the service they provide. How weird is that??? She didn't know me, and I've never seen her before today.

If that's not a sign, I don't know what is!!

I sold a few bits on ebay today, but I had a pair of brand new men's jeans (still tagged) listed for £9 which didn't sell. I paid £45 for them and they were too big for DS2 so I though £9 was quite reasonable..........but I got a message from this bloke today along the lines of "I usually buy my jeans for £2-3 on ebay and I think these were too expensive, you should relist them for £3, then I'll buy them!" Cheek of some people!

I've taken a day off tomorrow...........I was supposed to be going out tonight, but I think I've caught the bug that's doing the rounds. I even turned down lunch at the pub today.......still, at least it saved me about £10.

I feel like I'm being tested tonight. I gave all my CCs to DH in January for safekeeping, but I got a new card in today's post. DH hasn't seen it yet, so at the moment its still in my purse. I can't remember my PIN, but you don't need one to shop online! Don't worry, I haven't, but I really do need a new coat.............I'm fed up of having no money :(

  • Hi everyone......I haven't posted for a while, but I have been lurking and reading.

I've been feeling a bit guilty........I went shopping last Saturday and spent £85 on a gorgeous blue linen dress that I could also wear as a tunic with a nice pair of jeans. I didn't put it on a cc though, I paid cash for it, but that meant I was cleaned out till payday!

I've ummed and aahed so much about that new job, I'm sure all my friends are sick of me, but in the end I went with my gut feeling and sent the lady a nice email and told her I'd decided to stay where I am. It wasn't just the considerable difference in pay, something else didn't feel quite right. I like the people I work with now, and if my immediate boss could just get his act together things would be fine. I also got a payrise this month as I went up one paygrade.......so that helped me make up my mind :)

Petrol can't possibly keep going up and up in price......(can it??)...sooner or later something has to happen! It costs me between £6.50 and £7 just to get to work.

I'm off today and have 101 things to do, but I think I'm just going to have a lazy day.......nobody else in this house does anything on their days off, so I'm rebelling too!! The plan was to stay in my PJs, but the "incredible disappearing builder" turned up today..........so I got dressed, just in case I scare him off and I don't see him again for a week!

I'm off to update my signature now.....I'll be back!!

Well...........you wait ages for a builder.....then three come along at once!!

At the moment, they're busy attaching my new balcony to the wall. Our new bedroom will have patio doors and a balcony. I'm so fed up of the chaos surrounding us at the moment......this unexpected development has really cheered me up :T

Just checked my ebay items for sale and have a few bids so I should be able to transfer £100 from paypal in a couple of days.

I suppose I'd better go and do some housework. I might find something else I can ebay...!!

I'm back again! I have too much time on my hands today.

I've been reading some of the diaries on here and they are so inspirational. Some people have cleared huge amounts of debt just by getting on with it......so I've got my motivation back and decided that the best way to go is to set myself a target.....and if I tell you all what that target is, I'll have to stick to it!

The number cruncher's been hard at work this afternoon, and if I can stick to my guns, I think I could be debt free by August 2012 :T

So, that's my target.....TO BE DEBT FREE BY AUGUST 2012........:T

    That's 28 months.......think I can do it?

My loan payments are a fixed fee that go out each month, so my first step is to throw every penny at paying back the £850 I still owe my DH. I know he would probably tell me to forget about it if I really spoke to him about it, but I'm not going to do that.

Time to go and do some work now.......hungry people are starting to arrive home.

I'll be back later to change my signature

I'm back again......I've spent far too much time on this forum today!

Everyone fed and watered now, DH working on the extension. He's started the wiring now.......this is something he can do himself, so he's like a little boy with a new trainset :rotfl:

I've just come across a new thread....its the Olympic Countdown debt free by July 2012 thread. I've asked if I can join in so I hope I'm not too late. I'm sure its going to be much easier to achieve my target of being debt free in 2012 with a lot of other people in the same boat than it is here by myself.

Just had to spend £6.50 of my ebay earnings to buy more mailing bags :(. At least it didn't go on my cc. I was sooooo tempted to use the new card last week, I'm really glad I didn't! I like buying pretty things, and I don't think that will ever change. The difference is that now I'll have to save and only buy things when I need them.

:A ha ha, I wonder how long before the halo slips!!

    Here I am.........again!!

Today was my first day on the Olympic 2012 Challenge, and also my first proper DFD for April (better late than never!). I took a book to work with me to read at lunchtime, so I didn't even buy a newspaper.

I sent a blouse back to DP and that will be credited back to my paypal account before long I hope.

I posted two ebay parcels........which were already paid for by the buyers, so they didn't cost me anything.

I've worked out how much money I need to give the boys for school dinners and college lunches till next payday, and left myself £13 to last till the 24th May. I'll be very surprised if I make it without spending any extras, but I'm going to give it my best shot.

I'd worked out that I needed £145 to last the month, but the cashpoint would only give £140 or £150. The old me would have taken the £150.......but the new me (for today anyway) settled for £140...yayy. I've never thought about it before, but is there a reason why cash machines don't give out £5's or is it just a ploy by the Bank because they know most people will round it up to the next £10??

I actually got a kick out of not buying anything today........................how strange is that? :rotfl:

Tomorrow, I'm going to get up half an hour earlier and have another NSD :A

Have a good Wednesday everyone x

    Well.....that's Wednesday over.

Today wasn't too bad actually, I managed to get a lot done.......and I had another NSD. I went out for a walk at lunchtime, but left my purse behind....I think that has to be the plan from now on :)

Good news today, I sold about £80 worth of clothes on ebay......I won't have anything left at this rate!

I'm really getting into this moneysaving thing. I got a letter at work today where the postage stamp hadn't been franked. I managed to get the stamp off without damaging it and used it to post a summer job application for DS2. I bet you're really impressed :T

I don't have much else to report today........I'm just wondering if I can get through till next payday without buying anything new to wear!

Right...I'm off, I can hear a bottle of wine calling me from the fridge!
