To include the picture in a post, copy the direct link from photobucket, then click the Insert image icon (yellow square with a mountain) and paste the link. Or just paste the link here, either way will work :)

Hope you all had a lovely christmas!
Love the new thread title and hello to all the new stitchers that have joined us here.

Here are the pics of my Lizzie Kate pictures that are finally all finished.
    Unframed...

My Grandma with them all on Christmas Day.

I am going to iron them a bit better and frame them properly, but I think they look good. This has been great for ideas for the last 2 birthdays and Christmasses and I was dreading what to do for her 90th in March, but I've had a brilliant idea now. Not stitching related, but she was watching Torville & Dean over Christmas and saying how amazing they are, so I'm hoping to take her to the Dancing On Ice tour in 2010. It's at the O2, so not too far from me and with any luck my mum can drive her up here and we can find a hotel for her for the night & make a weekend of it.

Oooh-I almost forgot! My wonderful hubby bought me a gorgeous new pink digital camera for christmas so I can take loads of pics of my stitching & hampers.

    Hi Awesome2

14 count will often be listed as 14 HPI -which means there are 14 holes to the Inch ..
so you will get 16 hpi, 18 hpi etc which means the holes and there for the crosses will be smaller :D
Then you get different fabrics like even weave, linen which a lot of people prefer -and they will come in sizes like 28ct, 32ct -which means you get 28/32 holes to an inch of fabric -but with these you generally sew "over 2 threads" so you miss a hole out of each cross -which means that a 28ct works out the same size as a 14ct aida..
I hope that rambling makes sense....although Im sure someone can explain it better :o

Thanks for your help this makes it easier when choosing which kit to do think I may try the even weave but when you sew with two threads and miss a hole out how does it from a cross (sorry to be so thick)
    Thanks

Instead of using every single hole you just miss a hole so the work ends up with gaps whereas on aida there are no gaps.
This link is quite useful in understanding how to stitch on evenweave.

I have bought a kit in the past that uses evenweave instead of aida and had I not mentioned it on one of the other Cross Stitching threads and was told how to stitch on it I'd never have read the instructions and just stitched as usual :D
:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:

Here is the project I want to finish for Mother's Day. Now don't laugh when you see it - my mum bought it for me to complete and she must ask me every couple of months if I've done it yet. I haven't even started yet as it's much bigger than my usual cross stitch cards.

Well here goes. I've posted the link as I don't know how you post the actual photo.

    <a href="http://s757.photobucket.com/albums/xx219/elysia2003/?action=view&current=Christmas2009071.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i757.photobucket.com/albums/xx219/elysia2003/Christmas2009071.jpg" border="0" alt="project to be finished by Mother's Day (hopefully)"></a>

It won't be her present as she bought it herself, It's just that it gives me a deadline to work to.
    Hi
Can anyone tell me where I can get one of these from it brought a chuckle to my lips have googled various sites but to no avail. (boo hoo)

    Hi There

Sorry its been a while - been very hectic - even no time for stitching.

This year I am determined to get more stitching done - forgot how much it relaxes me. Will continue on with the floral alpahbet - done up to letter Q. So here is it at present, to be continued.

Hope all is well with you in your part of the world - the thread is looking great.

    Kind wishes

ooh, a nice new thread! I'll try to be more involved in this one, last time I was a reader but not a poster.

I'm doing a large santa on evenweve at the moment. It was from a recent Cross Stitch Collection magazine so some of you might know the one I mean. I'll post a picture when I get it off the camera
