gargoyle - O....M...G..... I honestly don't think I would ever attempt that on black fabric. Wow. Good luck with that, it will be amazing, even if you just do a section.
Casper - They look great, I only ever stitched one 'sepia celeb' pic, I stitched Cliff Richard for my mum's birthday one year. She unwrapped it and said 'Oh, Donny Osmond, I like him - thank you'.....

Thought I would put my first update on the new 2010 thread.
The picture is called 'Vision at the Lake' based on a painting by Christophe Vacher and measures 400x300 stitches
I do tend to jump around the work a bit, it just gives me different sets of colours to work with.

Ooooh, I saw John Barrowman a couple of months ago. We were passing the Playhouse theatre when he was starring in La Cage Aux Folles (BRILLIANT show, BTW) and he was in the foyer signing programmes. Very yummy he is too!Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27
12/12/12 challenge-[STRIKE]Season's Greeting Newton's Law[/STRIKE] Christmas polar bear-finished on time!
Thanks to all the girls in the Cross Stitch Cafe! You're all fantastic! :A0 -
Hi everyone!
I haven't done a single stitch for what seems like months now...it's only been a few weeks but seems longer
I'm itching to get my current UFO done and start on one of the kits I got for xmas but it's too darn cold!!
Heating oil has very nearly ran out so I daren't put the heating on until we have the delivery I ordered yesterday. They say it should be here sometime this week.
I currently sit here fully clothed with an extra long sleeved top on, bodywarmer, fleece blanket across my legs and fingerless gloves on! :rotfl:
Theres no way I could stitch in this get up.....I like room to move
Everyone progress pics look great, keep them coming...I love to nose at them!
I suppose I could console myself with sorting out my stitching 'box' to make room for my new kits but I think that will just make me more frustrated:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
Good to see some familiar names. Maria, lovely to 'see' you, hope new baby is behaving and giving you some time to sew as well as sleep.
Some of you may remember I was stitching a set of 3 Heritage Stitchcraft animals for my fairy godson. (Fairy as in not real but would be if he had been christened.) He has now received 2 of them with his 1st Birthday present becoming his Xmas present and his birthday present being a couple of months late. Gave him a little something to tide him over lol.
Anyway, I had my daughter in September so as soon as I have finished the above I have two Humphreys Corner pictures for her nursery and then I'll be able to get back to that Zebra's Eye that I started around this time last year.
Forecast is for massive snowfall down here tonight, have avoided it in somerset this time round, and car needs to go into garage as door needs fixing so hoping this will give me time to do a bit of stitching.
Have a lovely day all

Chickywiggle - I think that depends on how much work there is to do on your Mum's pieces. If you're worried that you won't get hers done on time just go full steam on them. If you think you've got the time to keep going a little on your Kittens then they are less likely to become an abandoned UFO if you keep doing a little.0

Letter R - Rose now finished.
Will start S tonight - as it will be quiet - hubby not well - it is annoying that his work won't pay him because he is unwell. Your health comes first and it is freezing up here and I wouldn't want him to get worse.
Great to see some "old" and "new" faces about the thread.
Kind wishes to all - happy stitching
sweetcarer:j cross stitch forever, housework whenever :j0
