ruth hunni, i know what you mean about time going to fast lol
taking the kids out to play in the snow in a minuet we wont be out there long though they all hate being cold so im sure we will be back in before we know it then i have dedicated the rest of the day to sewing, will get dollys sewing out to and give the boys something to do and only move when i really have to lol
i love love love that spool tree any idea where i can purchase the pattern? would love to do that in time for next christmas, could put it next to the one i did last year
    happy snow day everyone
    xxx

I just had a quick search on Sew & So and it's not on there. I only bought it a few months ago, so if it has been discontinued, it shouldn't be too hard to track down. It's by Sue Hillis and it comes as a chart and pack of buttons. I honestly have no idea what price I paid for it though. You could try calling The Nimble Thimble (where I bought mine)...

Don't blame me if you end up buying loads more charts from them, though. I end up doing an order from them about once a year and somehow about 6 charts end up in my cart!

chickywiggle, found this for you...seems quite cheap as its in $$ http://www.theangelsnook.com/CHRISTMAS-SPOOL-TREE--Counted-Cross-Stitch-Pattern_p_2518.html

    or this one http://www.everythingcrossstitch.com/christmas-spool-tree-wcharms-mrp-p3795c114.aspx

    or this one http://www.crossstitchjoy.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=1_278&products_id=2383&osCsid=022bc985bfb913227e452460307903ef

The first one is the cheapest and from what I can tell you only get the chart and buttons. Also bear in mind shipping costs from outside UK.

Had a quick look on ebay for you too. I searched for 'christmas spool tree' and just 'spool tree' but there were no hits at all.

    HTH

    thanks for the PM.

Have decided to buy bulk keyrings/ fridge magnets/ coasters and 1 other (paperweight??) and stitch a design into them - not all the same but similar e.g all flowers. can do this for other people to then cheaply as already done initial purchase. :money:

That's a good idea. Shouldn't take long to make up either.

Wow Maria, I'm stunned that Tyler is 6 months already, and saying mum - I'm so impressed. Time has moved to warp speed this year. Kezia is 3 months now so interested in everything going on but can't do anything about it, which is probably why my stitching is going so slowly. I spend all my time talking and playing with her then come bed time think 'oh, I was going to stitch today'. Its become a bit of a standing joke with my mum.

I'm snowed in again, not even got my newspaper delivery this morning, so maybe I'll get some done today.

Hope your back soon feels better Ruth, love that spool tree, looks like you are making fantastic progress each day. And thanks for the Stitch a Teddy link, think I might line one of those up for later on when I've finished evrything else I've got to do. Do you think Sewandso know how much we recommend them on here? I think we should be on commission.

    xxxx

My back is getting better, slowly. I want to go swimming, as that'll help it, but there's too much snow here at the moment. Too far to walk there in the snow and I'm not taking the bike up there. Better find something else to stitch instead! ;)

Sew & So get recommended so much for a reason. I think they'll be snowed in at the moment, though! My mum works in Stroud & it's VERY hilly, although the warehouse is in the valley. She couldn't get to work yesterday, so not sure if the shop in Stroud will be open. Really wish that Sew & So did cashback or some kind of loyalty scheme. I do use them a lot & rate them highly.

OOH am going there sometime in spring with a few friends to do some serious spending - one of my friends wanted vouchers for their shp as her leaving pressie and they were so nice and sent them in £20 a time just in case we didn't collect enough for her - we did collect £100 so she got all the vouchers (was going to keep some for me if we didn't) but am still going to spend some £ on me
    Mortgage £119,533 going down slowly
    Emergency fund £1000/£1000
