    Oh what a palaver!!

Put the Rugby on and decided to make a start on a Flower Fairy. Don't know why but for some reason I decided to check the count of the fabric I bought on friday....I asked for 16ct and got 14ct!
This immediately made me cross thinking great, got to now make a special trip into town to change it or wait until Saturday when I'm next in town.
Then a light when on in my stupid head and I thought that 14ct would be ok, the design would just come out a little bigger than expected. I worked out the new size it was going to come out at and the fabric is only just big enough to take the design, leaving hardly any excess for framing.

So I went through my stash and found a couple of kits hubby got me from the poundshop awhile ago (cute little puppy and kitten, not bad for £1)
Anyway, counted and measured the fabric and it's 14ct and a perfect size!!

After all that messing about and getting cross I really don't feel in the mood for stitching now :rotfl:

I remembered he had a chart of Carl fogarty on his motorbike (one of hubbies heros)

    Hi Mrs M

Any chance you can remember where you got the chart from - and how big is the design - My dad is 60 at the end of March (and I know I'd have no chance to finish it before then) - but could get started and finish by Fathers day :rotfl: - I do need deadlines! I have no idea what to get him and he's one of those that never wants anything, so this could be a plan - (it's my mums next year and their ruby wedding - so I could be busy!)

    Thanks

Just thought I'd share my fabby 99p shop find. Display books that hold 360 business cards. Thats 180 skeins of thread (as u can only fit 1 to a pocket (unlike business cards). I haven't filled it yet so i don't know how well it will close will prob need an elastic band round it.

Very similar to the collector wallets mentioned earlier but a lot cheaper!!

Now i just need the time to label the pockets and sort it out.

Hi chickywiggle -thats what I have mine in -stashed in 2 lever arch files :D-not that I found them at that price....I think they work great..

    Lainz
I got the chart ages ago -and have just looked up the user I got it from (e-bay) and they only seem to sell beads now :(
I have scanned the pic (sorry its backwards-I scanned it upside down so had to flip it :p)
its 14" X nearly 10" done on 14 or 28ct -and only 33 colours in it too...
I wasn't convinced as you can't see those famous eyes -but hubby loves it and "any fan would recognise it as foggy" -so Im told :rotfl:
    foggypattern.th.jpg
    Click it to enlarge ....
Hubby is taking it to work tomorrow to copy it as we work from copies... I will PM you later ;)....
Shelly -sounds like you had a day like I had yesterday ..hope you are nice n calm tomorrow,,,,
right off to do a bit more sewing -have finished that chunk of pattern so Im down to my last 2 pieces now :j

    Thanks Mrs M

I'm with you - 'fraid I couldn't tell you if it was Foggy or not - but Barry Sheene - that was a different story! ... potters off to see if she can find a cross stitch of Barry Sheene!

    Thanks for the great idea!

ooh look what I found: http://www.wye.co.uk/view/Cross_Stitch/Lyndisfarne_Cross_Stitch/Superbikes_by_Lyndisfarne/

(will only be of interest to anyone that knows anything about motorbikes!)

oh no - now I've found classic bikes .... http://www.wye.co.uk/view/Cross_Stitch/Lyndisfarne_Cross_Stitch/Classic_Bikes_by_Lyndisfarne/

I found that site too! Think I may go for a classic bsa/triumph or norton as the others you can't really tell who the biker is! (you know what I mean - I'm rubbish at remembering the colours and I doubt my dad will!)
