And could you pleeeeease cook them for me??? I'm far too hopeless to make them without burning the house down. I'll trade for some brownies.

meet you in the middle to swap :-)

DS is surprisingly good at making muffins. he helps me weigh everything - insists on mixing it. keeps an eye on the mixer to make sure it doesn't go anywhere.

Puts in into the bun tins (ok this is slightly more tricky and ends up with more on his fingers, in his mouth, on the table).

Puts oven on and puts them in.

Then keeps an eye on them to make sure they don't burn.

I am quite a good cook but I really can't bake - it's far too measured and scientific for me. However, I can make muffins. They're so easy...all the dry stuff in one bowl, all the wet stuff in another, then mix. Don't mix too much - lumps are good!

I make an amazing lemon drizzle muffin....nomnomnom

Santa 9 is underway! There is light at the end of the tunnel. I spent ten minutes gridding the Aida with fishing line before I started and it's made life so much easier. I will definately be doing that with larger projects in the future.

Ok. I might give muffins a whirl. If no-one minds could you post the recipe on here and we'll have a bake-a-long!

Practice, practice, practice...then give up & go back to using seed beads! I've tried & tried but I can hardly ever get a French knot to go right. Blooming things...

I still don't like French knots and still need more than one go at times, but my friend Boneist sent me this link
    http://www.wonderhowto.com/how-to-do-french-knot-191577/

and also this set of instructions, which I found really useful when doing French knots.
French knots aren't too difficult. There's usually instructions in the kit telling you how many times to wrap the thread round the needle (usually either once or twice) and how many threads to use. Once the thread is wrapped, I put the needle back down the same hole it came up about halfway, and then I pull the thread to tighten the loops and bring them close to the fabric. Then I put my finger on the thread as close to the needle as I can, so the loops are kept tight. Then I pull the needle through keeping the tension on the thread until it's nearly all gone down the hole. Fiddly, but not difficult. The trick is not to pull too hard afterwards - you don't want the knot to go through the hole! This regularly happens when I do them.

Sorry I still can't post finished fish pic because it's dark when I'm leaving for work and dark when I get home, the camera flash blocks part of the photo so will have to wait until the weekend.

Also need advice, the aperture on the card templates I bought on e-bay are too small to fit the WOCS quick stitches in to them - anyone got any ideas on what to do with them instead? Thought about adding names then folding them around a piece of card and just tying them to everyone's gifts.

Hiya, thanks for asking, she is still here, she has good days and bad ones. She seems a bit more unsteady on her feet, but she still manages to run for her chicken & rice at dinner time :)

Its my birthday today, i haven't bought anything cross stitchy, i am hoping for some great sales. If only Beautiful Dreamer will be half price ;)
