bring him on 23rd - we may get some nice freebies out of them to keep them sweet!! :D

may be in confinement but nooo stitching as DS is making sure i spend all day playing with him. :( I have even given up my child free day tomorrow as I cannot be bothered to get up at 6.30 to trapse 20mins (more like 45 in this snow) just to dump him at the childminders (whose road i don't think i could get up anyway).

now where has hubby buried my christmas tree - i may need to buy a new one tomorrow as I have a feeling i won't be able to get to it this year.

DHs uncle is staying and due to get train back up north tomorrow but at the moment they are all cancelled so i think he'll be going back over the weekend instead.

lol thought i'd share my DS today:

    Wow lots of posts!
    Firstly bella welcome:)
louise I can't believe taht we have as much snow as you do in scotland:eek: It's thigh deep here(nottinghamshire) if you walk in some bits and welly high everywhere else. My school has been shut all week but have done little craft unless you count the sticky pictures, baking and painiting I have been doing to try and keep my little ones from each others throats:mad:
dorastar sorry to hear about your parents problem.
23rd spiral glad to hear you got a reply but I do feel that the nudges would have to stop if you told them where we were and people could get in trouble for past nudges too.

Sewing wise I have done a little more of Rocky point, started another scarf which is a pain as it is knitting with ribbon like stuff rather than wool, got onto the raglan shaping of my cardigan and that's it. Tonight's plan when kids have gone to bed is to frame 2 cross stitches and several cards and do more of cardi or rocky point. I too feel the need to start soemthing Chrismassy so may have a go at making some felt ornaments for the tree- if the snow ever melts enough for us to drive to forest to fetch one:eek:

back later, off to get tea on

  • I think it can be forgotten that this is a this is a public forum which you can find by a simple Google search, then it won't matter if he's invited or not really, though it would be more polite to invite him in. :)

Just PM people directly if you would like a nudge.

Hoping to sit down and stitch some tonight. :o
  • ohhh thats no fun getting to work Kez.
It was okaym I left a bit earlier and the buses were okay, For info, I don't have a car so I either travel by bus, cycle or walk. :)

:D that wasn't my motivation, honest! merely to point him to a group of his target audience that in some respects, for some people, they are failing to reach since the mag changed it's format.
(ooh that pic of your son is too darn cute!)

just one reason for asking you lot - i'm not sure myself and wouldnt want to speak for the group. i may be a bit bossy, but i'm not that bad!:o

Thanks Kez, that's what i was thinking too. It's polite. And I dont think we've anything to hide or be ashamed of - people swap recipies, pass on magazines and papers to friends, share ideas & patterns at craft clubs and donate books and magazines to charity shops who resell them. I'd say what we're up to is somewhere in amongst there.

BUT, and sorry for the capitols, THIS IS IMPORTANT, i've recently seen that that might be against MSE rules - the moderator on one of the card making threads came down hard on someone who offered to post some leftover bits. like we were't allowed a swap group in the sewing room, but then the quilt square xstitches was fine so I really dont know what the official score is. (if we are breaking rules here there's always Flickr for that i guess).

 eek! i've opened a can of worms here haven't i? and all i wanted to do was show that CrossStitcher were great with my problem and cared about finding a solution!:o i asked him if i could post his reply to the forum because that seemed to me the polite thing to do. sorry if i made a mistake!
Relax, Breathe, Love 2014 Challenges:Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger 23. Frugal Living Challenger. No buying cleaning products. I used MSE advice to reduce my car insurance from 550 to 325!! & paid it off in full!!!
  • Now that he knows about us, he's going to pop in and have a look... we might as well invite him in, and then maybe he'll chat rather than just look :)

Just my humble opinion for what it's worth :)

Welcome bella. Don't be shy everyone is friendly here.:j
It didn't hit me until this morning that I was snowed in. I tried to go to work today after being off sick since the snow started and I couldn't even get to the end of our road. Me and hubby went out to the garden to see how deep it is and it's now a foot deep

23rdspiral I'm feeling much better thank you. Sorry to hear about you being stuck on dartford bridge. I live near there and on Tuesday it was really bad. It doesn't take much even without the snow.:p

    !

That's a recent thing, due to so many people swopping names/addresses etc and the forum understandably doesn't want to get the blame for any trouble caused - they are covering their own backs.

I have no problems with someone from the mag coming to have a look at the thread. I did consider the nudges but since the majority are from old magazines which are now hard to come by then I think we could be forgiven eh?

Mind you - you will need to prewarn him that it would take about 6 months to traverse the thread, and there is only a small number of comments about the magazine.:rotfl:

Incidentally......I have been reading this months mag (the only delivery the postie has been able to make this week :rotfl:) should I hold off on my comments for now until he pops in?:D
