lol is it laid out next to you?? that means its sizing you up to see if you fit.

Could i please have first dibs on your stash? :D

I've heard that! I'd keep him fed for years but I'd rather stay in one piece. Also sharing a room with 4 geckos but they don't at all bothered by me. Randall is never normally this active when I've seen him before. I've even held him before, but tonight he seems to be in a grump with me and after seeing the celebs get bit by snake in the jungle, I'm a bit wary now.

Anything in mind when you raid my stash??? ;)

  • Ooo Chicky that choco looks fabulous, just the ticket.

Snowed here, but the buses seem to be okay if a bit late, so should be able to get to work okay.

Don't think it snowed at all here overnight. Hope our buses are all running fine as over the course of today, I'll be catching 6 buses!

Only a few flakes of snow here in Gloucester today. Visiting family & friends this week. Was in Apperley (near Tewkesbury) yesterday and the roads were SO icy. Almost slipped a few times. Now chilling out at my brothers house. At least it's warm here!
Wouldn't say no to a hot choc if one's on offer....
Snow pics are good. Can't believe how bad it is in some areas. Plan is to go to Bakewell at the weekend for a craft fair. Assuming we can get there!
Hya Ruth...over near Tewkesbury and little snow here too...though you are right about the ice. I think I will get out the salt today as our front path is getting a bit dangerous!

Good luck with your numerous bus trips today. Heading for Cheltenham tomorrow, taking a friend into hosp for a check up...then we hits the shops!! If the weather isn't too bad, might head for Hobbycraft in Glos..very dangerous...but I have loads of birthday money to spend :D

Did some work on BIL's coaster last night...only his initial to do in the middle (must design it out on squared paper first). I have another two more coasters to do and another couple of picies to start and finish before Xmas...so must get a wriggle on! :o

First I have to get this blasted curtain finished for the back door..it is soooo heavy to work with now :(
, but it will certainly do the job of keeping the house much warmer...once I get it up! ;)

Have a great day everyone...stay inside warm and safe if you can, otherwise, take care out
there in all the snow and ice...brrrrr!!!

yugh, i go to my parents overnight, try to get to france on eurotunnel, get stuck on M25 / dartford bridge for 5 hours  . we're normally too sensible but dad decided it was worth a try - on well. it's too cold, dark and needing a wee to get on with the Xstitch beside me, whilst i'm doing that you lot get snowed in, and look what happens... pages and pages to read and comment on! sorry for the mammoth post, it's not my fault, it's yours! :rotfl:
another benefit of joing the flickr group is if (like me) you have a shocking memory you can look thro the pics and know just who to PM for a ;);)

that's a brilliant idea chicky :D and oh my you've a lot of snow!! how are you doing today? at least during your 'confienment' you can get some stitching done!:)

Great idea for the flickr group as I still can't post pics. :( Am off to bed as not feeling too good.

    hope you're feeling better elle.

Keiss - the curtain you'r making sounds like a great, and thrifty, idea. picture please!

wow maria, you have been busy. the felt decorations you've made are especially lovely.

ruth - you're making me really jealous of your fancy phone! but not of the snake!

keiss you've been really busy too! i'm loving those outline cat pictures - they're so effective.:T
cazmcf - :D congrats on now having a stash! :T I do not call something a UFO unless its started or should have been started. otherwise it's a stash. much less guilt! :rotfl:

Louise! blimey! that's a whole lotta snow!
Crafty Granny - hope you're ok too with all that snow.
witchywoopiggy - is it still snowing with you?

ellip - congrats on getting all that done so quickly! sorting out is hard but needed. when my ex boyfriend who i lived with dumped me by email after flying to austria to stay for a few months, i packed up all his kit and left it on the lawn for his brother to pick up. i went out with my mate who'se now my fiance (and not the reason for the break up). i think it rained. :rotfl:

Dora - so sorry to hear about your bad news. that's just aweful. i feel so sorry for them. good luck with everything.

MagsCat - love your tree! black? trendy. with cross stitch? awesome!:T

hello bella! that's a really nice pattern. i hope you can find it affordably.

Kez - that was such a nice welcome to Bella. just sums us up perfectly. :T

Today I am going from Brockworth, into Gloucester to get a bus to my Dad's in Quedgeley. I'm there for a few hours, then bus back into town, bus to Abbeymead to visit a friend in her new house, back into town, then bus to Stroud to see my mum & sleep over there in a snake free room! Busy busy busy...
I'm not gonna get to do any shopping until tomorrow & even then I won't get chance to get to Hobbycraft. But I do get my special treat of a visit to Home Bargains! Woo hoo!!! :)
Looking forward to the craft fair in Bakewell this weekend-anyone in that area going along? Celtic Rose needlecraft will be there. Will try to behave...maybe!

    CrossStitcher Magazine

hi everyone, i did email crossstitcher magazine about that DOVE kit that didnt chart right. I didnt really expect a response, so was very happy when i recieved a personal reply. and they have kindly offered to send me some 16 count aidea so i can make them up.:T

HERE's THE REPLY if youre interested:
Don’t worry you’re not going mad! We commissioned the designs to fit the apertures but we think the quality of the aida in our free kits was so poor compared to the tester ones we made up for photography (ie: larger holes) that it made our designs come out slightly larger than planed. In order to make them fit correctly you might want to try and use 16 count aida or use nail scissors to trim the aperture, that’s what we did with ours in the end. We can send you some 16 count aida if you like? Just let me know your address and I’ll pop some in the post today for you.

but i was perhaps a little silly and mentioned in my reply that a cross stitch forum that i'm part of would like to hear that they know they made a mistake with the kit and that they are working on quality control and want to keep the mag affordable. I mentioned that the gingham wasn't up to scratch for some people either. So the chap is asking if he can come and have a look at the forum? now he could find it easily by google searching i know, but that's a little different to inviting him in. we're a community here so i thought i'd come and ask what people think?

oh, he also said that for them to make changes they need feedback so if anyone is ever unhappy with a kit or content they should email the magazine. i did, and am glad i did as it means i know i'm not going mad!

i've dived on here risking the firewall at work, but will look back tonight. PM me if you want. so sorry if i've done the wrong thing and upset people.
