Hi
I've been lurking again, but now have my camera back from Mum so can show you some of what I've been up to.
My John Clayton fuchsias are now half done - see below
I've also done three small pieces which my Mum has put together into a sampler as part of a group project to be sent to a stitching and craft group in Japan who have sent us lovely goodies in the past. I'll just show you the made up sampler cos I'm having problems with Photobucket:
Sorry about the size - its been so long that I've forgotten which linkies to use.
Anyway, big zen hugs to elliep (Santa is just gorgeous!) and to anyone else who needs or wants one. Cassolete - your finish is also gorgeous! I would just like to win the lottery, give up work and spend my time stitching all the amazing fantastic beautiful charts/kits out there.
All the best.

Quick update - I've just ordered "Carnation, Lily, Lily, Rose" from Scarlet Quince - http://www.scarletquince.com/pat.php?pat=SAR001
This is my Christmas present to myself, but its going to be a big, big project - and I still have about half of my fuchsias to go!
And I have a HAED and a Mystic Stitch and "Woodland Enchantress" and a whole stack of projects out of various magazines that I want to do!
Help! There are never going to be enough hours in the day for this lot.

So I went to buy some threads for my new project, and there was one DMC colour I couldn't find... it wasn't even just that they were out, but where the number should have been there wasn't even a slot for it. Is that weird? The number was 3860.May your needle stay threaded, your stitches even, and may the goddess keep your tangles far away.
I'm No36 in a cross stitch challenge I don't quite understand yet, but my goal is to be done all the stitches on my UFO before Christmastime! :cool:0 -

Wow - that is going to be some challenge!!:j:TSo I went to buy some threads for my new project, and there was one DMC colour I couldn't find... it wasn't even just that they were out, but where the number should have been there wasn't even a slot for it. Is that weird? The number was 3860.
That is strange. It does exist, it's a medium purply-brown shade, so there should have been a space for it.
Did you ask where the shop was hiding it?Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. Yeah, it was strange. I thought about asking, but the shop (hobby lobby) also didn't seem to have the Aida cloth I wanted in the count/size I wanted, so I figure I'll have to make a trip elsewhere anyhow. Plus the staff seemed uber stressed (thanksgiving rush?) so I thought I'd just leave things be and ask another time.
I'm excited to be starting a new project! I really shouldn't "start" until the end of the semester, but there's something alluring about something sparkly and new, eh?May your needle stay threaded, your stitches even, and may the goddess keep your tangles far away.

What new project are you starting ??? I'm doing little projects at the moment. I completed a small winnie the pooh kit that I got free with a magazine - just need to add a seed bead for his eye (don't really get on with french knots) and check that I have done all the backstitch, oh and I started a small snowman design midweek which I have made very good progress with :j so hopefully I can sit down today and finish him ! so then I will have to decide whether I do another xmas project or start something else ? I'm sticking to small projects at the moment because I'm trying to get lots of practice at being as neat as possible before i attempt one of my big projects.
The thread you mention is saying that it is available on www.sewandso.co.uk but I'm guessing from your post that you don't live in the UK. Its very annoying when the fabric or threads you want are not availableHow inconsiderate of them.
As I mentioned, I am planning to sit down later and finish my snowman with either my audio book or a dvdand decide/start my new project. Need to grace my carpet with the presence of the hoover though and do tea but apart from that, a relaxing day cross stitch is all I have planned
ps does anyone know where I can buy madeira threads ? I was going to buy some extra as I have a kit that uses them and want to make sure I have plenty but looking on sew and $o, whilst they sell maderia threads, they don't appear to sell the bulk standard colours ?? only the metallic / sparkly ones ?0 -
have had a look for maderia threas but couldn't really come up with anything useful (uk sowing.com) appears to have some.
