that is what I love about this site, everyone is just like a huge group of friends.

I agree with you there Harley - I don't have many friends and I have been made most welcome here and to have cross stitching in common is a great thing too. Should finish U tonight in the floral alphabet - and the winning name U is for

    UMBRELLA PLANT

Will post update tomorrow. Nice to see some new faces in the thread. Started to snow again - off this weekend so think I will hiberate and stitch.

    Kind wishes to all

  • Wow Louise that baby block on your blog is so lovely! I bet that will be treasured forever. Oh my goodness Mrsmcawber - that is a big project, makes my look teeny tiny :-) Do your hands not ache doing all that work? Thanks for all the welcomes by the way, it is lovely to be welcomed in with open arms.

morning all harley not sure if this is the one you are looking for theres no penguins
    img197.jpg
let me know if it isnt the one you are after you are more than welcome to it any way

    Hi Maria,

Well, its very strange but that is the same one that I have here. However mine is from Cross Stitch Crazy from November 2007 and the page layout is different. Are these magazines cheating and reprinting old charts? Thank you anyway, and if I can't get the penguin one this is what I will do instead. I think all the blue makes me think it is more for a boy, from what I can remember the penguin one was more colourful and probably better for a little girl.

Maybe Mrs M's copy is the penguin one. I have my fingers crossed.

Thank you for digging it out for me though.

Now I have to go out again, I've forgotten to go to the docs for a prescription and only got half the shopping I meant to as I left the list here next to the computer. I can't imagine where I left my brain but I don't think it is in my head at the moment. Hopefully I'll be back later and have change to do some more to the sheep.

    Hi there Harley

    I haven't found it yet...but I do have this one :-
    http://www.trademe.co.nz/Crafts/Crossstitch/Patterns/auction-261812140.htm
Im sure I have the other one somewhere...unless Im losing the plot completely :rotfl:
I can only see it being a GOLD or COLLECTION one as they are usually the only 2 that interest me -and its not very often I buy 1 either

Wow, that one is lovely Mrs M definitely a possible alternative. Not come across the name Durene before though, I'm guessing it is American?

Ah, never thought of it being in a Gold or Collection edition. I get mine on subscription now, Cross Stitcher with my Tesco clubcard points and Cross Stitch Crazy for Christmas present, just waiting for a good subscription gift before I get World of Cross Stitch and I'll never need to pay full price again...
Except now you've got me thinking about differnt magazines. Oh dear, I have no will power at all.

Sunshine, I like the idea of downloading them but you have to sign up which tends to be a bit of a process. And these things quite often take up quite a lot of memory which I don't have on the laptop. My brother is going to look at it soon so I will give it a try then. There was one I found on google but it ended up being about 20 stitches across. Thanks for looking though.

All errands done, still loads of tidying to do but baby is asleep so am going to take the opportunity to do some more to the sheep.

    Hi Mrs M.

I know the feeling about getting a bee in your bonnet, so have I. I'm equally sure that wouldn't have thrown it away as I knew as soon as I saw it that I wanted it. Trouble is, now I have a whole other persons stuff in my house I can never find anything. I really need to set aside some time to sort out a lot of it. Tomorrow should be a good day, I was supposed to be going out but that has been postponed so I will strike whilst the iron is hot and sort out downstairs whilst the gorgeous one sleeps. With any luck she'll have a nice lie in and I'll have it all sorted and leave plenty of time for playing and stitching.

She was watching me quite intently last night, I think we may have another keen stitcher in waiting.

Still loving that lady Mrs M. Am starting to have quite serious stitching envy.

p.s not that I'm encouraging anyone but my quick search of google came up with some gorgeous Heaven and Earth design stockings. But they are not cheap so I am trying not to go back to them.
