  • Hi Ladies
Hope you are all well not been able to post for a while as I have arthrits and it has been playing up badly. Lots of lovely work going on though well done everyone. Need to ask a favour please does anyone have any hetitage craofts silhouette charts they can pm me please. I have not done any stitching as my hands have been to sore and have really missed it so I thought these will be small enough for me to manage.

niamhirl; So sorry to read of your troubles. I'm glad that you have stitching to help take your mind of it for a while. Hope the MRI doesn't show up anything untoward. The farm kit that you are going to do is amazing it would be horrible if it doesnt turn up, good thing you paid with Paypal.

Wow some of you have some stash tucked away. I made a rule with meself that I don't start anything till the current project is finished :p and I only have one very large unopened kit that is going to be a long term project. (Do have lots of mags with patterns in that I like does that count otherwise gonna feel totally left out :D )

Here is the one that I'd nearly completed. The finished piccy with the dreaded back stitch is on my homepage.

Love the cats - I don't usually like cats but this one is so colourful - won't ask for the pattern though as I just have those few UFOs to deal with first :rotfl:

Am going to take the mackintosh roses to my mum and dads then I only need to take a couple of colours rather than huge pile of stuff (see I am trying to get through them!) Then going to start on the Christmas tree, a plan is a plan.

    Really like this one too:D

Niamhirl I got my felt from our lovely local haberdashery shop. I could spend all my time in there, we are very lucky in our small town to have a place like it. I got a square about maybe half metre and it was £2.20

Well ladies after being falsely accused (thanks Cassolet:D) I went and made a list of the kits I have in my stash and here it is (Dorastar I hope it makes you feel better:rotfl:)

    1) set of four flower pictures by heritage, pansy, auricula, rose, sweet pea
2 or it that 5?) mallards picture (seemed a good idea at the time)
    6) Lavender and lace Spirit of Christmas
    7) Dimensions Gold gracious era
    8) poinsetta kit
    9) aurriculas on black aida
    10 ) iris flower fairy
    11) all our yesteryears Dancing round maypole (a gift)
    12) AOYY seascape scene (a gift)
    13) pansies bookmark
    14) hardanger bookmark
    15) crewel kit
    16) silk embroidery kit
    17) foxgloves embroidery card kit
    18) old barn embroidery card kit
    19) lavender needle case
    20) topiary card kit
    21) butterfly card kit
    22) anenomes card kit
    23) african ladies kit (a gift last week)
    24) teddy kit (gift last week)
25 ) celtic knot scissor keep - stitiching done just needs making up.

So it was a bit more than I thought but I have bought nothing for 5 years (son was born then) so you can only imagine what the stash was like before then when i had the time to stitch and the money to shop:eek:

  • Dear Thrifty:
Your list is no better than the list I falsely accused you of belonging to!! Both of these lists make me feel like panicking!! Haha...

I should organize my UFOs so I can make a list of them. I probably have more than I think I do.
May your needle stay threaded, your stitches even, and may the goddess keep your tangles far away. :)

I'm No36 in a cross stitch challenge I don't quite understand yet, but my goal is to be done all the stitches on my UFO before Christmastime!

I'm not sure if my list counts. I have most of the DMC threads and lots of magazines with pages bookmarked of projects that I want to do. I'm not sure that it counts if the threads haven't been sorted and the fabric hasn't been bought though?

I do have a few things that I should finish though.

    1. Santa, almost done and this is my challenge to finish him by Christmas.
    2. My first patchwork quilt. All the pieces are cut and some of the stitching is done.
    3. Photostitch of my dog. I put this away in 2008 when my dog died and I couldn't face doing the stitching anymore. it's about 1/12 done and has tons of confetti stitching in it. I can't decide whether to discard it or whether to carry on. I wasn't enjoying the confetti stitch and I still don't know if I can face doing it as it brings back all the feelings from when he died. Perhaps I'll find another photo of him and do a different one in his memory.
    4. a few kits that I inherited from a lady whose eyesight was failing so she couldn't stitch anymore. I gave some of these away but still need to sort through the rest.
