The vase of flowers is lovely! Really delicate, even the vase looks real
I like the black, it looks very classy. I was also thinking how nice it would look on a piece of dyed or patterened fabric. Eek - I mustn't start any news ones, i still have 64 cats and a mouse to do, and the new cat pic i bought on ebay.
I also succumbed to the 50 DMC threads for £13 and bought stuff to make a baby photo cross stitch to life...
But... those flowers are very pretty. I wonder if that's a Christmas present idea... EEEEK0 -
Good morning everyone!
Big hello to Soulie (just in case you need an 11th post before you can post piccies.) Welcome to my favourite place on MSE. It's fab on here.
Right ladies, I have a question. It's probably a REALLY stupid question but i need to ask. All the kits that I have ever done have needed some backstitch, but there doesn't seem to be any at all on my Nightmare before Christmas picture (not that I'm anywhere close to that bit yet :rotfl:). I've gone through the instructions inside out and upside down and there is no mention at all! I'm just wondering if you guys have ever done a big picture that has had no backstitch at all, is it common? I've even emailed the designer of the kit to check I haven't got a page missing! The picture on the front of the kit is only small so I can't tell from that either. I'm thoroughly puzzled.
Hi, thank you for the welcome!
Someone on another thread said it was 25, so I shall plod along LOL
BTW. I really HATE backstitching {since there was LOTS on a tatty teddy cross-stitch I started a few years ago, and ending up being a UFO LOL}, so I would be happy with ANY kits that had no backstitching LOL13 Projects in 2013 Finished: 5 of 13
May Misson: Complete 20 Stock Cards - 23 of 20 - DONE! :T
Read all Unread Books: 20 / 47  - oops bought 8 more books, 25p each though!

Scary moment - I've put grannie's tea and biro stained cross stitch epic in the wash... Oh I hope it's ok...
I'll report back x0 -

Does it give you a "big fat no" message when you try to post a pic/link?
Backstitch makes pics look fantastic - but I loathe it. I can never quite decide whether to do it all in monumental nightmare at the end, or as I go along....
I am doing the backstitch on the cats one at a time - but that's because I am bored of it now and each completed cat is an achievement!! (I've done 36/100 now... 1/3 of the way there. YAY!)0 -

The colours haven't run into each other, but the background fabric is a funny browny pink colour. I hope this will fade as the material dries...
Ho well, I'll stick it in a frame, she won't notice...!0 -

Don't panic!!:j
You will find that with larger designs there is so much detail that there is no need for backstitch. For example none of my HAED's have had any backstitch at all.
How is everyone getting on, having a good weekend I hope?
We spent the day at the Safari park so kids all went straight to sleep (Yay!)Going to settle down to some stitching soon

Seeing as you asked
I didn't get round to re-starting my UFO on friday as everything seemed to conspire against me! After my exercise and shower I had the idea to sort out clothes and grundies. Lord knows why but it seemed an idea at the time.
Then I had lunch.
I decided at about 3pm to make a start on my UFO but couldn't find masking tape to tape the edges. Couldn't get hold of hubby at work to ask him where he kept it so had to wait for him to be available. Once I sorted out masking the evenweave I decided I wanted to enlarge the chart. Couldn't remember how to enlarge so spent ages faffing around with printer settings.
Are you still with me? :rotfl:
By the time I had done all that it was nearly time for hubby to get home and go shopping so I didn't start at all.
Though hopefully today things are looking up on the PC front. Hubby has rescued all the important stuff and is currently formatting it to re-install the OS. We are taking the opportunity to upgrade the OS and once it's all up and running I am putting everything on an external storage system we have so in the event it dies in the future we hopefully won't have this problem again!!:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
Ah, I have done 2 cats today :-) 38/100 complete.
I also washed grannies epic - and erm, well, it's not perfick! The tea and the biro have gone though
I was a bad girl and bought the threads to make my photo stitch - I hadn't really intended to - but 50 for £13 is too good to resist.
I also took my patio doors to the tip - saved me the £100 the council wanted to charge to take them away..
Goodie - that's £87 to spend of crafty bits
How about everyone else? x0
