Can I give you all a heads-up that I might need to beg a huge favour of some of you? :o

At the moment my pc is down (I am sharing hubbys for now) We installed IE8 on it the other night and maybe I didn't have all the security updates but when I used a site I have used before I got a massive virus install itself and now we can't even boot mine in safe mode.
Hubby is pc savvy and has some software that can hopefully save everything on my hard drive but the worry we have is that this morning it wouldn't let him onto my desktop and my desktop is where I had all the charts that had been emailed saved in a folder :o
(he always told me to store stuff on the hard drive and have a short cut on desktop but I didn't listen)

Hopefully he figures it out and can either save the folder of charts or the original emails that were sent. He's hopeful he can do one or the other but I just wanted to give you a heads up that I might beg you all to re-send the charts you have sent me in the past if at all possible.

He's going to have a good look at my pc over the weekend and hopefully he can save it all......he has done so in the past so I have every faith in him :D
If he can save them I'm going to have a big printing spree so that this can't happen again :o
If he can't I am going to have to have a total re-install and beg you all to re-send.

    I'll keep you posted!

Sorry and thanks all at the same time :)

Just tried googling for a phone number for you but no luck though I did find they have a shop on ebay.....well I am assuming it's the same place. The seller is called acrosstownstitching. Maybe you could contact the seller and ask about mixing the threads?

    I have her phone number. 01908 612759
Her name is Louise & if you get the answerphone, just leave a message & she'll call you back.

    Hi everyone!
I'm back from my hols. Have had a busy 6 weeks. I have been reading all the messages, but haven't had chance to post much recently. Had the Center Parcs week for my birthday, then a long weekend in the Isle Of Wight, then to Gloucester to see my family. Am home until the end of August now...LOL!

I had a great week in Gloucester. I still had lots of birthday pressies to open there & my Dad had bought me some stitchy stuff which I'd forgotten about. He was with me when I chose it, and when I went to pay for it, he took it and said it was a birthday pressie. There were 3 small kits-Popcorn, a daisy and a butterfly and some fabric.

I'm still waiting on my Wimbebees order. I think they tried to deliver it when I was away as hubby said there was a 'we tried to deliver...' card. He's arranged redelivery for today, so it *should* be arriving any minute now. I've forgotten what I ordered & hopefully haven't had much removed from the original order.

I had a great couple of days in Devon while I was staying with Mum. Her school friend has been living in South Africa for years, but has recently moved back to the UK and her and her husband have bought a house in Devon. My friend lives about 5 miles away, so Mum asked if I'd like to go there with her and visit her friend and catch up with my friend while I was there. The house they've bought is stunning! It has a wrap around veranda, which I've always liked (reminds me of American houses) and they have 2 acres of woodland which we walked around. They have a new puppy who is 12 weeks old & just adorable. And 2 cats who they rescued in South Africa. Ginge took a shine to me and spent a lot of time happily licking my clothes or falling asleep on me. It was great to see my friend too. I hadn't seen her in 16 months, and it's her birthday today (happy birthday, Tracy!), so we went for a nice lunch together.

I still need to finish my quilt square. Only the name & location, so it won't take long once I've planned out the spacing.

All the updates & finished pics look great! Love the crayons, especially.

Off to stalk the postman now...

    Hi all,

Long time lurker, first time poster here, but thought if I registered and started posting then it would encourage me to finish off a few of my UFO's!

My name is Jo, and I live in Derby, {I am originally from Leeds though}, with my OH and our almost 12 year old son.

I started Cross-Stitching when my son was about 2 years old, since then I have progressed on to papercrafting {mostly card making} and my cross-stitching has taken a backseat for the past 6 years or so, but I REALLY want to get back in to it, especially as I have a few UFO's lol

I would post pics but as a new user I can't yet, so I will just have to wait it out for a while.

Does anyone know how long it will take or how many posts I will need to make?

Nice to meet you! I am new too - and they (well we actually, because I consider myself one of the group now) are all lovely :)

I struggle to post pics, but that's mainly because I am a fool - but it appears that you need to sign up to something like Photobucket and use the link that it gives you on there... or just post the link (like me!)

There's a little pic icon when you type a message, and you paste the URL of the photobucket pic into that.

Must stop ranting and work - I just wanted to say hi...

Post your UFOs and we can all chivvy you along :) xx

    Hi Soulie.

    Welcome!

I think it's a combination of time registered and posts made before you can post links but have no idea of the time/number needed.
Sorry I can't be of more help.

One treat (As a well done for getting the job) then boring bill paying is the way to go (How dull!)

Is it the job you want, or is it "just" a job?

Congratulations again :) When do you start?

Thanks! Suppose it's just a job really:( but after not working for ages I'm just so happy to have a regular wage coming in! I was up handing my ID in today so should be starting hopefully a week on Monday woohooo!:T

Thank you for the welcome :)
I am an oldie when it comes to forums, so it wasn't a case of 'how to' post pics, rather than, 'when can I' post pics lol
    Thank you very much though!

I guess I will just have to hang around a bit more and make a few more posts and see how long it will be before I can post my UFO'S lol
