    Dear Louise,

    she's beautiful. One question - do you have a cleaner/gardener/butler/au pair/housemaid/personal shopper ? Do you manage on 2 hours sleep a night ? ;);)

If not, pleeaaasse share your secret of getting so much stitching done in such a short time !!!!

    Dear all,

A couple of months ago you kindly gave me advice and support regarding my zebra UFO and my issues with it relating to the last year of my grandma's life. You told me that I should finish it or have it finished, partly for her sake and partly for my own.

So I took your advice. My May challenge was to make a visible difference to my UFO with a view to finishing it by the end of August. When the May challenge party came around, I only had the white and grey areas left to do. Things went on hold while I did my square for the great quilt caper, but then I went back to my UFO (interspersed with my fuchsias WIP).

On Saturday, I went round to my parents and took my UFO with me. When I showed it to my Mum, she was so proud of me for dealing with my issues and getting back to work on it. I was there nearly all day and got all of the cross stitch finished. Yesterday I did the backstitch and put it through the wash in a pillow case on delicate.

Looking at the back, I can see how much I have learned in the past 18 months since I took up stitching again. The original bit is a right mess. The latest bit is a heck of a lot neater.

So this is not the update that I promised you the other day, this is a finish. And thank you all so much - without your advice and support, this piece might still be lurking at the bottom of my stash and preying on my mind for another eight years or so. I'm not going to give it away - Mum is going to turn it into a cushion for me. I have got over my issues with it and instead I will remember that my grandma would have thought that it was wonderful, just because I made it.

Big Zen hugs to all who want/need them.
