Morning everyone,
I have been lurking here for a while, and some of your projects are fabulous. I have stitched for years, but had a break, and am now back into stitching with a vengeance.
Thanks to Mountain Ash for the heads up about the Wimble Bees sale, just bought loads.
Am currently doing a name plate for my grandson (did one for my grand-daughter last year), but love angels, so have a few of those kits that need doing.
Looking forward to seeing more of your projectsYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever0 -
oh my! so much to catch up on and literally NO time
.
Glastonbury was totally amazing... had a brilliant time despite the unrelenting heat... got backstage and hugged even more Wurzles, reunited with a cousin i hadnt seen since we were kids and nothing's changed:), and met some famous people who i cant quite believe i met and will have to post picutes to prove it!;)
anyway, i'm doing a turnaround from hell and now volunteering as an animal steward at a steam rally this weekend... and volunteering away at an event every weekend till august, then one off then another week's festival... dont know how this happened, and dont know when i'll have time for stitching, but it will sure be a fun and random summer!
Sooo, i have no time to catch up and its really irritating, and hopefully i'll have a little time on monday, but i just had to dive in to say a HUGE THANK YOU to LOUISE for the swallow kit. it looks really lovey and the colours are perfect.. i cant wait to start it! and i'll probably do it twice, one for me and one for my best mate who loves 50s stuff, and tattoos, toothanks hun!
Relax, Breathe, Love 2014 Challenges:Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger 23. Frugal Living Challenger. No buying cleaning products. I used MSE advice to reduce my car insurance from 550 to 325!! & paid it off in full!!!0 -
Oh who was it that mentioned the sale... now I HAVE to spend all morning searching for bargains rather than doing Year End which is what I am meant to be doing...! Bah!
Mustn't buy things... someone stop me... argh, it's dragging me back....
Argh... I am doomed...! xx0 -
Mountain Ash. Thanks for the heads up about Wimblebees sale! You are an :A
Dumbass me went looking and didn't think it was much of a sale at all, prices still looked expensive.....until I read the sale banner again and it said that discounts were applied once goods were in your basket :rotfl:
I got a piece of white and a piece of cream evenweave and some size 24 needles. I wanted size 26 as advised by Louise but they were all out of stock. For all I know I already have a size 26 somewhere but as the needles you get with kits aren't size marked then I have no idea
My basket came to £21.55 but I only paid £12.19, that'll do me nicely!:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
Here's my weekly update.
Last week,
and this week,
Haven't done much this week due to the weather. Once I have got sat down to start stitching I have been so hot I just can't be bothered:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
I'm back again!
Just seen this elsewhere on the site so thought I'd post it as mag subscriptions haven't been mentioned for awhile....
WHSmith has a mag subscription sale on at the moment and there's 2 cross stitch mags. Both are 5 issues for £5.

Hope someone is able to get some use of the offer. I would like to myself but I have soooooo many kits and charts to be getting on with that I daren't! :rotfl::heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -

Oops - maybe I got the last of them, I got size 26's lol
I got £34 of stuff for £18, just a shame it's because the site is closing down.
Your shelves are coming along nicely - is there much more to do after that section is completed?Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. I agree, a shame the site is closing down but bargains for us so can't complain.
Could you measure a size 26 for me please? Maybe the length of the needle and the size of the eye? Then I can compare against what I already have and I will most likely find I already have a size 26.
As for the shelves no, not much to do after this section. Some backstitching though there isn't much but I have a little unpicking and restitching to do. The knob on the top of the coffee pot is too far to the left by only 1 square and because I know it's wrong I think it will have to be fixed...lol:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with.
