Hya all,
Been so busy this week...at work and sewing....as well as watching tennis....go Andy..and what a shock to see Fed exit...so excited, couldn't concentrate on getting new sewing project started!:D
Here is the bookmark I have made for my Sis IL this week.
I backed it with iron-on interfacing and then some pink felt...really must sort out a stash of suitable backing material...old sheets/pillowcases/duvets could be a possibility!
Going to make a coaster for my sis now...another one from my Celtic Cross Stitch Samplers book I have had it for ages (before kids...DS1 is 21 this year!!), and have used and adapted many a design from it.
I want to finish the coaster befoe we head off to Scotland next Tuesday....hoping all the threads I have ordered arrive before we go. Plan on sewing Louise's Summer Ladt while we are away...though plan on taking Tha Astronomer too so he doesn't feel left out! I can take the Lady out and about, whereas the Astronomer is a bit too big to be done out of the house.
Confession time now ladies...while looking for threads/beads etc last night...I ordered this! I had planned on asking for it for my birthday/christmas this year...but I feel I will really use it this holiday...at least that is my excuse!!Both sets of parents have lovely tables to work from, but hopeless lighting...this way I should get lots done!!
Tea is nearly ready, so have to go. Will post a piccie of the coaster once I have finished it.
Have a great night everyone.

ohh Keiss that lamp looks fab.
*louise* you have done loads, it's lovely.
yes Emzy, i think i have succesfully got to a point where i can tweak the backstitch on the mice...... loving my kitties one to.loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -
Bit belated news but I completed my Charlie and Lola card Monday night so have done both bits of my challenge:j:j One thing I haven't done though is put the writing on though as I don't like it so I am going to save it until DS's birthday and stitch his name on then. I also need to wash and press them so I am not posting pics until I have done it as I want them to look ace!
I have decided that my July and August challenges will be to complete Rocky point. It is a complicated one and is on 16 count aida. I am about two thirds of way through but it involves lots of colour mixes (is this called tweeding?) and changes of thread and has no space for the background so I have to stitch over every hole so I think 2 months is a fair enough challenge. Might even be too ambitious seeing as I'm no way near as quick as Louise!;) I will post a picture when I have pressed the other two.
bubbles big hug hope you feel better soon.
louise it looks lovely

So cute.
This has been changed to the money saver arms - I really thought it was so funny. It was originally on the pets board

Thank you
It was taken from the No1 cross stitcher magazine way back in 1996 (got issue numbers at home along with number of colours required, back then they sold you the individual ones with some threads) - they gave the individual flowers in a part work - I just put them all together in the one. Yes, there is a different flower for every letter of the alphabet - even X.
I had started it years ago and it looked like this - as I had abandoned it when my husband died and it got consigned to the shed.
So way back in August (I think) I gave it good wash (so never fear when work is dirty and you have used good quality floss and material) and words of encouragement from the girls on here I finished it in March. I put a dedication to my late husband on it, my new husband doesn't mind. So now it looks like this - yes I know I still have to get it framed - need to save really hard for that one.
Kind wishes

Hello
Total group newbie here...
Have been x-stitching for about 20 years (I'm only 32, that makes me feel so old - how can I have been doing something for 20 years already!!!)
Anyway, just wanted to say hi, and how nice it was to read all your stories and look at your pics.
I am not very good at posting on forums, but it's rude not to say hi after you've spent all afternoon reading, smiling, scribbling down tips and generally having fun!
Back to my "Hundred Cats and a Mouse" epic now (I've been at it for 7 months now, and I've only done 17 of the blighters!)... google it, it's fab
Hope to be a fervent poster, see you all soon

 Hi and welcome to the thread we are all very friendly and quite entertaining and look forward to seeing you again soon. Omg just had a look all those cats it would take me forever .
Now ladies promise not to laugh too hard but i had to go the doctors today due to a stitching accident. I have a floor stand and was moving it away from where i was sitting and as i lifted it up the frame came off and the frame smacked me right on the forehead . I now have a cracking headache a large lump and purple bruise and very dented pride.lol Oh and the flipping wing nut thing broke the skin. Even the doctor laughed when i explained it. :rotfl:
I didn't quite complete my challenge i only managed 3 and a half bears . Oh well i need to stitch a monkey kit by the 29th for my grandaughter then hopefully i'll finish my fourth beartellmeitsfriday wrote: »Hello

Ouch! and im sorry but i tried very very hard not to laugh but a little one escaped out of me some how
On a serious note I hope you're ok, it sounds painful, did the doctor say to rest? I hope the headache doesn't last too long xx
And Louise thats coming along so quickly, its looking lovely
Confession time... Ive started another 2 designsone is for my OH none of you will probably know what the picture is but on the off chance its Blanka from street fighter. Its 20 pages and will take some time because it needs to be done on 25 count over 1 thread not 2 otherwise it would be huge!!
And the second design (an easier one!) is from a cross stitch magazine I found in a charity shop, ill try and get some pics up soon0 -

I bought it from Sew and So... it took about a week to arrive, so maybe they ordered is especially. I think it was about £25.
There were quite a few on ebay when I looked (in january)
I've looked now and there are some on ebay.com... if you picked a "proper" shop it would be fine toox

Welcome to tellmeitsfriday - love the name.
Oh granny hope you are ok. Take it easy, get hubby to make tea.
Emzy you naughty girl but if it is for a prezzie you are excused. I have been sorting out what threads I need for the anniversery stitches I will be doing soon.
I do like your chart Louise and you do stitch fast.
Hope you have a safe trip up to Scotland Keiss - its been hot up here of late but I have heard rain is coming. I am off next week too, we hope to work on the garden - grass is yon height.
Well done thify in getting your stitch done - look forward to the piccys.
I did send a PM to MrsMac - but no reply.
Really good questions you put up Shelly (always wondered myself) and thank you Louise for answering them.
Bubbles you will have to let us know when it is going in - talking of going in magazines - I am going to appear in the works one - how embarssing - had to get my photo taken (thought they wouldn't as I work in a secure location and we can't have cameras in our work).
Hope you have not missed anyone out - if I have - sorry.
Hope all is well in your part of the world
