I have yet to start a millenium sampler! :rotfl:I obviously bought it 10 years ago and have sorted the threads and overlocked it ready but I think I ought to get my rocky point UFO finished first as I started that 5 years ago and have done about 2 thirds. It has a lot of blending and confetti stitching so think I may need to get my frame set up again and a lot of needles so I can "park and stitch":rotfl:

Certainly worth investing in for large projects with quick changes of colour.
I haven't cross-stitched for about 2 weeks now, I'm sure I'll get into it again soon.0 -
Hi everyone, umm i know what quite a few of you mean about feeling low ect. odd isnt it? i dont think the weather keeping changing is helping either. and i've hurt my neck again (flared up an industrial accident i had last year), and my boss is being slightly accomodating but it's not as if its my fault really i wouldnt have a problem if they'd done health and safety right. so i'm grumpy and not able to do any one thing for too long as it siezes up.
but i did get some stitching done last night on the quilt square, so i've made a good start. i'm so glad to see all the finished ones, and it's motivating and reasuring i'm doing it right, but can't help feeling i'll be the last to finish though which makes me a little worried.
there's lots of lovely sea blue and dark sea blue mingled in together - BUT GOSH i really dont know how you all do those colour blended arty pictures, i've enough trouble telling those two colours apart! maybe daylight will help?Relax, Breathe, Love 2014 Challenges:Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger 23. Afternoon everyone
. I haven't done a lot of cross stitch as I've been trying to make a cushion cover for a nursing pillow to give to my DSis. I will hopefully have a progress picture by the weekend lol.
Everyone's projects look wonderful, I'm so jealous especially of the afghans. I would love to make one for DS or Dsis's baby when they arrive but they are so expensive. I'd probably make up a quilt with squares that have been cross-stitched.
Off to baby group with DS. Hope everyone has a nice day.TOTAL DEBT £12,212.46/£2000 paid offDebt Free Goal September 2017#106 Emergency Fund £482.53/£10000 -

Maybe we should do a stitch-a-long for it when you're ready, then?
Where in America do you want to go? We're off to San Francisco and Las Vegas. So excited! :j We don't leave for 5 months, but I'm already planning things to do. We've been to both places before, but I want to go back to Alcatraz again and there's so much more to see in Vegas.
Just posted pics of my almost finished quilt square on the other thread. I just have to chart & stitch my name and location then I'm done. It's gonna be so nice to just post it off and let someone else do the hard work of finishing it off!Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

After a little advice girls,
Its our 3rd wedding anniversery in July and each year I have got him indoors an item to go with the meaning eg
1st - Paper - years subs to magazine
2nd - Cotton - cross stitch wedding sampler
So now its third - leather - do I get him a leather jacket or a suede jacket - will get one on ebay - save a wee bit of money as we not exactly flush.
Want to make him happy - we won't be able to go over to see his parents in America this year for two reasons, one - we can't fully afford it and two - his american driving licence has expired (he is american but can stay in this country) and he can't renew it as he has no fixed abode there now. If he wants to drive there he will have to pass the UK test and take both licences with him (his american one to prove he is not just a new driver). It is a shame we can't get over as its their 50th wedding anniversery this year.
Kind wishes to all
sweetcarer
PS Mum is back on to anti biotics but still at home, will find out next week if she has to go to hospital again for them. Thank you for your kind thoughts.:j cross stitch forever, housework whenever :j0 -

Oooh, I do this too! It's fun coming up with ideas. For our 3rd I gave hubby a leather photo frame with a black & white pic from our wedding in it. He bought me some Gingher scissors in a leather pouch.
I think keep your options open and see what styles you can find on ebay. That way you have more choice & you'll be more likely to find him something that suits him.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

Hi peeps,
I stumbled across this thread and just had to join (hope you don't mind) I looooooove doing cross stitch and most things crafty in general!!
I thought I was in a minority of people who have ufo's but I am pleased to see i'm not the only one! I am currently doing a 'home sweet home' cushion which i designed myself and am currently using soluble canvas (I have never used it before so I am hoping it doesn't go horribly wrong!)
I will try and upload a picture as soon as I can (try not to laugh!!) It's nowhere near as mammoth as some of the amazing projects I have seen on here!! :TKeep on comping!

Thanks Emzy - i suppose that logically someone has got to be 'last' and that it doesnt matter, but i was feeling quite down this morning so that didnt help. i stayed home from work today and got quite a bit done on it listing to charles brandreth on radion 5, very funny about how he gets angry with his boss. i could relate!
~ i've just had a look and think i've found the post you mean... no idea why it came up in that google search though! very odd. well, i've now posted a follow up to that question in case people find it wondering the same things as us.
~ if we are talking about the same place, it was great and my oh and i love the town and go a couple of times a year for a day trip. we're planning on camping there again mid/late august, so it would be great to meet up if you're around then
Hi sweetcarer, that's a really lovely idea for your anniversaries. (perhaps consider which he would wear more or for what occasions? i've a 'best' suede coat that i hardly ever wear and an old leather biker jacket i wear loads. or how about some nice shoes?
~ i hope your america trip works out for the best. maybe going next year will just spread the love a bit further about the anniversary? esp if they've lots of people visiting this year because of it?
~best wishes to you and your mum x
Charliec45 ~ hello! dont be embarased, no one will laugh. everyone's very kind here, and gosh knows i've asked some dumb beginner questions! no one will laugh.
(well, they might laugh at my mistake with the quilt square chart. i totally overestimating the number of french knots as i though a circle code on the chart was more knots... but i'm laughing through the embarasment too:rotfl:)
