It is my 8th wedding anniversary tomorrow so we are packing the kids off to nursery and MIL's so we can have lunch out and a day shopping together. I can't remember the last time we actually spent a day together without the kids, it will be very strange but in a good way.Right, challenge no. 29 for May was to finish my peacock - easy I thought, it's only a 5 x 7 inch kit. Wrong ! There is such a lot of detail.... needless to say I've not quite finished the back stitch. So I guess one more day will see it done, washed and pressed. It's the first time I've used a water soluble pen so I will see if it really is
Off to the hairdressers this morning, the shampoo girl does a lovely head massage :A
Linda xx
I was worried when I first went to rinse out the pen marks. I was so worried they would leave a trace, but they didn't. It was on the fabric for about 6 months, too.
I had my hair cut last week & the chairs you sit in while they shampoo your hair were massage chairs....bliss! Why don't all hairdressers have those?froddington wrote: »Hi everyone! Can I join you please? I need to complete a baby sampler for my friend's son.

My keyboard is playing up and keeps missing out letters as I type, so might have to switch to the laptop instead. :mad:Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

Ive been doing my HAED on 25 count in 2 over 1 but ive done quite a bit now but I think it looks too bulky
Has anyone else done a HAED in 25 count? When going over 1 did you use 2 starnds or 1? It says to use 2 but it looks bulky and is quite hard to do, when ive gone through one hole a couple of times it feels like im ramming it through and half the time I have no idea if its come through the intended hole or whether ive made a new one!
Ruth You have done loads on the balloon girl so far, its looking lovely0 -
Hi Emzy81
I've only done one picture on 25 count over 1 thread and only used 1 strand of cotton. It looks really delicate, need good eyesight mind you:eek: I can imagine using 2 strands it would be quite bulky. Will try to take a picture and upload it so you can see it.

Thanks id really appreciate that, was the coverage ok? Some people are saying they do tent stitch (which ive worked out is just /) in 2 strands and the coverage is fine but im not too sure about that0 -

Coverage isn't too bad. As you can see the background is quite a bold colour and doesn't really show through much at all. HTH. Don't know if you can make out the date on it (1992:eek:)

Hi guys, Im about to start on a new small project today. Its my sister in laws birthday tomorrow so gonna try and quickly stitch an eeyore card kit as she loves whinnie the pooh. We have made her a hamper of little presents including the free truprint photomug.
Ruth your massaging chairs at the hairdresser sounds like heaven! I cant afford to go to a hair dresser, my friend is a mobile hairdresser so I die my own about once every 3 months when I can afford it and she comes and cuts it every 3 months or so. The rest of the time I cut it myself, as my hair is short its quite easy just to trim it. It only costs a tenner for her to cut it then I dry it myself. I never used to think about paying out for a colour cut and blow dry and the hairdressers, now I would kill to have one to feel special! San Fransisco looks lovely.froddington wrote: »Hi everyone! Welcome to the cafe Froddington. A bit further down this post I have added you to out challenge list, we all have numbers and set monthly or yearly challenges and we encourage each other to complete them. I have assigned you number 30 (cant believe there are so many of us!) and added you to Junes challenge but not sure if you wanted it to end by then, let me know if you want it changed. I hope you come to love this thread as much as I do.I am currently hunting for the chart on it's own, I hate buying full kits when I have the stuff in my stash
If you find it I would love to have a sneaky copy. I nearly got a tinkerbell tattoo once but chickened out at the last minute!Arghhhhhh!!!!

That paragraph sounded foreign to me! I only use Aida, ruth honey is sending me some even weave (not sure what count) to try for the first time.
Judellie I too couldnt resist a peak through your previous works and you have stitched some stunning things. I am in love with your country scene with trees, my dad would adore that, do you know who the pattern is by? I would love to stitch it. Hi Bubbles
The country scene with the trees is actually a needlepoint design from about 20 years ago.
The toy story one was from a magazine a few years ago and it came with the mount,
The baby orangutan was from a recent magazine. I think I've still got it so if any one wants a nudge let me know;)
