Had a very stressy afternoon - been gutting (decluttering and cleaning) downstairs - daren't even start upstairs. Then dd (8 years old) decided she was having a 'craft' day. Have supervised the making of a card for Pops birthday, a hama bead 'you are the best teacher' plaque and then she remembered a long lost winnie the pooh tapestry she wanted to do.

In her own words " you can do your stitching and I can do mine" which turned into a

'Right I've got it now, up one hole then down the diagonal one - no I don't need any help - oops it's gone wrong - this is stupid I can't do it - why is it wrapped all round the edge - was it up then down or down then up - MUUUuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuum!"

I have never been so patient and calm in my life - I managed to get 6 stitches done in the hour we sweated our way through 3 rows of tapestry - and guess what she has planned for tomorrow:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Welcome to the cafe Froddington. A bit further down this post I have added you to out challenge list, we all have numbers and set monthly or yearly challenges and we encourage each other to complete them. I have assigned you number 30 (cant believe there are so many of us!) and added you to Junes challenge but not sure if you wanted it to end by then, let me know if you want it changed. I hope you come to love this thread as much as I do.

Thank you everyone for the welcomes and to Bubbles for adding me to the list. I do need to finish the baby sampler this month so that's fine!

I've noticed a few of you saying that you stay up very late to get some stitching done. I confess that sometimes I am still stitching at 2am, munching on a bag of tortilla chips (nacho flavour) and watching QVC in the background .How late do some you actually stitch ? Linda
Hya, I have been known to stay up to 4am at times...not a good idea too many times a week! :o

Wonderful pieces of work everyone...Bubbles, that clef is looking fantastic!

I haven't completed even a third of the second page of the Astronomer, but it is definitely coming along.

Here is where I was on the 23rd...............................................................and here is where I am now
    on the 31st.
    DSCF0206.JPG DSCF0206.JPG

Still lots of confetti stitches...I sqeal with joy when there are more than three stitches of the same colour near each other...sad or what!! :D

Not got my quilt square stuff yet, will pm you Dora.....so will be working on the bookmark/card for my niece..and the Astronomer (of course) in the meantime.

Been really busy over the weekend...the greenhouse got cleaned and now houses 5 grow-bags full of tomatoes...and others waiting for some chillies...Friar's Hat grows 5 feet tall so I tend to treat it like a tomato plant...the rest go into pots (fiull of grow-bag compost) so I can get loads of different kinds growing...only 6 this year....and 6 (or 7!) different tomatoes...including two of my favourites: Brandywine and Sweet Million.

Got to get to bed soon...full day at work today, with guys testing the whole building's fire alarms individually,...all 120 of them! So we had the alarms going off every 5 or 10 minutes all day...ooooh my head!!! :( Hope they get the last of them finished tomorrow morning, as doing another full day, though not starting until midday, so I can have a sort of lie-in!

Have a great day sewing everyone...might get some done tomorrow night, though might not feel like it when I get back after 8!!

    Hi Bubbles
PM me your details and I'll send it next week. (will have to wait till then to copy it at work). I also have enough of the linen I used left over to do another one so I'll send you that as well if you want.

Love it - I've got 2 boys who both decided they would like to stitch with mummy. I thought it would be great - would keep them quiet and I could get on with mine!! Not a hope. I literally have to watch and tell them they have got the right holes, remind them which hole they need to go in next etc.

They always seem to get the thread wrapped around the material in some odd way as well. We pick up their stitching about once every 3 months and do about 5 stitches before they get bored and want to go off and play football!!

bubbles when you next update the list would you add my details please? It's on my siggy. Thanks for doing this. I used to do it on another website and know the work you put in.:A
froddington hello to another flylady, that's 4 of us now I think although I must say that since Toots couldn't do the stars anymore and I discovered this thread I am not as motivated anymore. Don't get me wrong, my house is not a pighole, but I don't really care anymore if my mattress gets hoovered every week now!;)
judeille your work is lovely, think the monkey is my fave.
sweetcarer and emzy thanks for the threads sites. I did pay 75p but only got 2 skeins and I wanted them NOW:rotfl:If it had been more I would have shopped around but I just couldn't wait! Will bookmark those sites for next time though.

Well I had a lovely anniversary, we had a lovely time out just me and him and had lots to talk about although we both missed the kids. Had a lovely breakfast in John Lewis, lots of browsing which you just can't do with a pushchair in tow, spent half an hour browsing in a bookshop which I have not done for 5 years and I loved it. Went in Lakeland and got some jam supplies, bought some knitting wool to keep my MIL busy, left my scarf pattern at home (don't laugh experienced knitters, yes I do need a pattern for a scarf:o).

My handbag broke just as we were about to leave so I quickly tipped the contents into another and DH bought me another while we were out bless him. It's a Nina? one and it's lovely but was more than I would normally pay so I am determined the kids rubbish will not be going in there!

Then we went for lunch at Bistrot Pierre which was lovely, got my charlie and lola charts copied, choc for kids and went to pick them up.

Now I have a dilemma, do I start the charlie and lola card or finish the flower fairy? I did a bit more last night and watched more Lost but avoided the french knots again. I will count them all when it's finished and hubby has said he will post the pics up as I am rubbish at things like that.

I have started stitching until around midnight but then I am on holiday this week so it will change next week when I have planning and marking to do.:(

    Anyway Happy stitching everyone:A

Ruth Honey - i LOVE the Banksy kit! what an awesome idea! that's something else to add to my to do list. thanks for the link to the site theyve got soem great things. oh and now i've seen pics i'm SO totally jealous of you going to QI land!

Thanks. I hope my brother will like it. My mum has bought another one to stitch for him, and she has Bubble Kids to stitch as a wedding sampler when they finally get married.
QI was fun. I like going to see the filming of TV shows. It's one of the perks of living in London, as most of the shows that are free are filmed around here.

Hope you enjoy the show, I keep hearing about him but have never seen him before other then on an advert.

The show was fab! We were 4 rows from the front and right in the centre. :D Just a few feet away from him...:T It was all trying out new material and seeing what works and what doesn't, so it wasn't as polished as when I saw him at the O2, but for £10, it was SO worth it!

Sounds like you had a wonderful day.
I'm catching up with Lost too. We have LOADS of episodes on the Sky+ and I've managed to avoid people talking about the ending so far. Must catch up soon, though!
