New challenge finish birth sampler by end of the month
No matter how much life knocks you down, it's your ability to get back up, brush yourself off and face your next set of challenges that makes you stronger0 -
Right, iv'e caught up but am now shatterd and hve to go cook dinner. i had to open a new window for the quote box and write in that there was so much to read over!Bubbles911 wrote: »I hadnt thought that they might count it being posted on here as it being published, I hope thats not the case but there is only us on here so doubt they would ever find out. It was your quote I used, I couldnt quite remember it and couldnt be bothered to go through the posts to find it so it might not be exactly what you said. I did a creative writing course years ago and maybe that all came bck when I wrote the article! My mum always said I should write a book about when I was friends and travelled the world with a celeb but he would probably sue me!!!
For all those who have given up on their challenge or isnt going to complete it your not letting anyone down. I didnt even chose one this month as I couldnt think of one! Its meant to be a bit of fun and encouragement but life does get in the way sometimes and as long as we enjoy our stitching, whether we complete the challenge or not, we are all winners.
Bubbles - thanks. your course certainly paid off, as you wrote clearly in a logical order (me no can do that), and even though you couldnt remember the exact words, you wrote the feel and sentiment so probably said it better than i did in the first place!!
- you're right about the challenge. for me it's a bit of an incentive but if it ever became a guilt inducing chore i would have to bow out untill the love came back. thanks again for compiling the lists.
- and your trebble cleff is looking amazing. i'm glad you've found the determination to carry on. :TYay awful weather today:ji think it's really funny now i do so much handcraft that i actually happily anticipate a rainy day!
YAYAYAAYYAAY have finished flowers for m-i-l's birthday - and ordered a matching bouquet to be delivered by florist on 9th June. :j
:T Dora they are beautiful! and that's a REALLY lovely idea to get a matching bougeut! - one that will smell nice and one that will last forever! :T oh and the fairies are so very cute!
Mountain of Depbt - ooh that's really pretty. i like all the different patterns. it looks heritage-y, which i think is a good thing.
Froddington and Ashyspebbles - hello and welcome!
Keiss - good luck with the greenhouse and you're growings. would love to hear how the chilies go.
Ruth Honey - i LOVE the Banksy kit! what an awesome idea! that's something else to add to my to do list. thanks for the link to the site theyve got soem great things. oh and now i've seen pics i'm SO totally jealous of you going to QI land!
sorry if i've missed anyone, everything is looking great, and happy birthday and/or anniversary to those with them!Relax, Breathe, Love 2014 Challenges:Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger 23. Well technically my May challenge is complete, only I didn't actually do it:rotfl: Big thank you to my friend if she reads this, because she delivered the bookmark back to me on Monday complete with backing and tassel! :T I never want to use aida band ever again! It nearly got thrown out of the window in temper!!!
Do I get a party bubbles, I cheated but I owned up to it :rotfl::xmastree:What a splendid idea, this Christmas sounds fun. I fully endorse it, let's try it at once!:xmastree:0 -
Hi Bubbles
The country scene with the trees is actually a needlepoint design from about 20 years ago.
The toy story one was from a magazine a few years ago and it came with the mount,
The baby orangutan was from a recent magazine. I think I've still got it so if any one wants a nudge let me know;)

wow cant believe the country scene with trees is from 20 years ago! Its really beautiful. I would love a copy of the orangutan if you wouldnt mind. Would be lovely for my autistic nephew who loves them.I've noticed a few of you saying that you stay up very late to get some stitching done. I confess that sometimes I am still stitching at 2am, munching on a bag of tortilla chips (nacho flavour) and watching QVC in the background .
How late do some you actually stitch ?
Linda
With the angel I was sometimes up until 5am! I dont work though if I did it would probably be about 11! Most nights I am up until 2am as I listen to my favourite radio show until then. I also have a secret sweetie box which was a present after my breakdown. One of my friends spent £50 on a huge hamper of sweets from our childhood days, they was in September and Im still eating them! Love my pint pots, flying spaceships, milk bottles and chocolate cups in particular. Not forgetting vampire teeth. yum!Ruth_honey wrote: »Been stitching some more on Balloon Girl today. It looks odd close up with the all different colours around the black, but from a distance, it works.
Off to see Michael McIntyre tonight. It's a show where he's trying out new material, so should be fun. It doesn't start until 9:30pm, though!!! I'm usually ready to go to bed about then.
Hope you enjoy the show, I keep hearing about him but have never seen him before other then on an advert.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member No 2 :j

Just got back into cross stitching for the first time since I was about 12, and made a sampler for a wedding I'm going to this month. Didnt take too long, although I did spend a fair bit of time unpicking bits I wasn't happy with. Now looking forward to progressing a bit, you lot have given me loads of inspiration.
so a pic of my 1st (ish): with details removed for the recievers privacy-and in case any one who knows me is around
