I've seen on a few pieces that you've got 10x10 grids marked out. Do you draw these on yourself (what with?) or can you get aida/evenweave with grids on?

    Both :T

You can buy 'Magic Aida' which has pre-printed grid lines which wash out at 40C

Or you can buy a water soluble marker and draw the lines on yourself.

I have tried both methods, the magic aida is easier, but would work out much more expensive for some of my larger projects, so I will continue to use the pen for those.

Hi everyone, the party went really well yesterday and i managed to get all the gift tags done so that was good :) And they were all really impressed with them and kept saying well done so that felt really nice :j They also all like their personalised mugs so that was great too!

Mountainofdebt that looks great I bet you're happy with it :) well done
As for floor stands, it depends on what you want to spend really, I have this one...
    http://www.siestaframes.com/acatalog/StitchMaster_Floor_Stand.html
with the chart holder and light but i don't like the way whatever frame you use just rests on the arms of the stand. So im going to (eventually) sell the actual stand (keep the chart holder and light) and put the money towards this stand...
    http://www.siestaframes.com/acatalog/Stitch_Smart_Stand.html
it actually holds the frame so feels more secure and id prefer that, but it comes down to whats best for you.
I can't give advice on any other stands as i haven;'t used any others but I hope this helps a little :)

Chickywiggle that really annoys me too....the catergories are there for a reason

Thrifty Wow thats a lot of french knots! You must be an expert now lol

Sweetcarer you have been busy its coming along lovely :)

Maria I thought it was an afghan too! It looks really nice

    Louise Almost done now!!

    Funfairpincess Ive voted..Good luck :)

Dorastar They are lovely, I must admit the fairies are my favourite its a really lovely design :)

Ruth I can't wait to see what that 'Balloon Girl' kit looks like finished

Im off to decide what my June challenge will be...

    Oh and...

I love that crochet elephant Spottybutterfly! he is really really cute :):)

and Thrifty I don't think there are any groups around here unfortunately, Id really like to try and go to one. Im not even sure where to look for groups, there are none in our local paper and none advertised in our monthly news letter, I might write into the newsletter and hopefully someone will tell me there is one :)

    Right June challenge.....

No 14 Emzy81 To do my 'R' square for the charity quilt, to complete the first page of my haed 'in love chart' ( ive done a tiny bit) and to do some more on the flower fairy

    Emergency fund £1000/£1000
    Savings for big things £9017

Everything is lovely but the elephant is amazing, what a great little pressie for your nana. I'm going to be nosey and ask if you made the flower and leaves on the card or if they are a "topper". It looks as is it was embossed on parchment paper and then painted, really delicate and effective. You are very creative anyway, I think it is so thoughtful to give hand made presents to people. I usually stitch cards etc for Christmas for family and they do appreciate the time and effort.

    Linda xx

The rose was made on parchment paper embossed and paper pricked with a fiskars template for the out line then you chose how to pattern the leaves and petals, it is this kit http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Fiskars-Parchment-craft-items-for-card-making/scrapbook_W0QQitemZ400104238745QQcmdZViewItemQQimsxq20100221?IMSfp=TL1002211310003r24907#ht_500wt_1154 I then coloured it with pastels and smudged the pastels with a cotton-wool bud and I mounted it on the card with some cheap mounting foam (comes in a big pack in the £1 shop). The first time I used double sided tape but it kept falling off as the embossing causes it to curl and the curl was enough force to push it off.

Anyhow back to stitching, its not been a good weekend in terms of stitching, i've now ran out of the red wool on my Lowry, so i cant complete it totally (which was this months challenge) as I have about half a column of red and the boys black jumper left but no wool to do it :( . I am holding off on the back stitching until get a reply back from the manufacturer.

So I decided to start the quilt square, which i was going to make part of my June challenge, and then i see the main colour is missing from my envelope. So I now think I have a plague of missing threads.

So I'm off to stitch what I can with the threads I have.

Well, here is the proof that I finished my May challenge. Sorry it is not ironed or framed. Baby has 2 new teeth coming through so not really had time to do anything this weekend. Hope they will be through soon as I've not had much sleep either. 29330_398854914493_672949493_4051763_2103627_n.jpg

I have, however, managed approx 30 stitches for the Christmas stocking and therefore my June challenge should read....

No 11 Harley to complete bottom half of Christmas stocking. Hopefully.

    Thanks bubbles.
