You can get them for less than £1 each on ebay if you buy them at the same time

    Example:

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/10-BLANK-ROUND-COASTERS-CROSS-STITCH-80mm-INSERT-/120500842938?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_Crafts_CrossStitch_RL&hash=item1c0e68f1ba

As for the bookmarks, iron on interfacing is good to cover up the back of the stitching for a better finish. Some people have laminated them. I tested that last year, it laminated quite well lol.

Interfacing isn't expensive, £1.60 can get you enough to cover loads of bookmarks

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FUSIBLE-IRON-ON-LIGHTWEIGHT-INTERFACING-DRESSMAKINGETC-/190387158986?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_Crafts_Sewing_Supplies_MJ&hash=item2c53f57fca

Somehow when I looked on ebay the 10 pack didnt come up. That is exactly what I was looking for. 10 should do everyone I need to buy for so gonna buy them with my pinecone money. might get some of the iron on interfacing after all, it cant go to waist really can it.

Me neither - I use Picasa now.

Have had a crummy day. :(

It took soo much longer to make my bread than usual...the foccacia just wouldn't rise for ages, (we were going to have it for lunch, now it's for tea!), and hte wholemeal loaves (4 of them) just rose, and rose and rose. Then, the pastry kept splitting/breaking when I was trying to made loads of pasties...never happened to me like that before...Aaaargh!!:mad:

So much for getting the bread done in the morning and gardening in the afternoon (mind you, it has rained on and off all day! :o)....oh well, I will just have to do some tomorrow instead. ;)

  • *Hugs* to everyone who needs them.

I missed the party (not that i had anything to celebrate) but wow there was 3 pages of posts to catch up on since i last looked in here. :T to everyone who completed there challenge and even thoes who didnt still have a drink  for trying.

I have some coasters like what bubbles was looking for i bought at the craft fair in the arena (sneeked in for free using my mams signature, as i cant justify a £10 day our for a ticket and travel costs), and they are the square ones, but i found the images i wanted to put in them were too big so i had to frame them instead. So no idea what to do with them now. I think they were bought on the "6 items for £5 or £1 each" part of a stall.

Can i ask ladies who have the scroll/ rotating frames and thoes who have the white plastic clip lap trays what they think of them? The next thinks i want to do are the dictionary of charts (just trying to convert the numbers to dmc right now- no idea who's conversion chart is the most accurate tho). I have a few hoops, but what i dont like is how they distort bits of the picture that are clamped between the hoops.

I like the idea of lap frame that clips togeter (think there's only 2 sizes of this) but is 2-3 times the price of a rotatin/ scroll frame really worth it? And what size of either types of frame is best, i dont want anything too big.

Has anyone bought the £9 for a meter 14ct Aida from Across Town Stitching? What brand is it? Also is it good enough quality to match for colour if on the alphapet thread we have to use our own Aida? OR has anyone found somwhere cheaper for aida? Oh and i cant find Across Town's P&P can anyone help.

Also what was the exact type of that kerniker (sp) gold thread that matches the rubbish gold dmc stuff (and the best price obviously ;) ).

Oh and more questions- im on a bit of a online shop misson today. Does anyone know how i can find out how many skeins of dmc thread i need for the "Dictionary Of......" charts, someone kindly sent me the charts, but this is the first time ive not either used a full kit or used left overs so its a bit daunting.

Phew i bet your all knackered after reading that, and on a naughty note i havent tocuhed my Lowery needlepoint all week  .

Hi Spottybutterfly, I've got 2 of the white plastic clip frames and I love them. One is a hand held one (11" x 11"), and the other is like a lap frame that supports itself so you have both hands free to sew. That one is better as it is 2 sizes in one, one side is 11"x11" but if you want smaller you just flip it over and it is 8"x11". I agree they are a bit pricey, but they are worth it. I'll never go back to hoops again! I love the way you can just twist the clips on the side to tighten it up.

I've got a quick question too please, for anyone who has sewn on black aida. When I take the material out of the frame it has like light grey shiny crease marks on it. I've put a piccy below because I can't really explain what I mean!!! Is this normal or is it cheapy material that they supplied with the kit? As you can tell I haven't done much yet :rotfl:. I'm just wondering whether to persevere because you probably won't see any of it after I've finished, or whether to quit now and buy another piece of black aida. Is this a common problem with black aida????? The piccy doesn't really show it up, it's much worse in real life honest :o.

    Hello everyone,
Hope all well. I haven't posted for ages but have been busy working and stitching, unfortunately more working than stitching so I didn't meet the end of April deadline, but have been enjoying doing it all the same :).
No change of catching up on the news, but just hope that you are all happy and healthy. xxx
