Peoples advice please :).........thread cards...if i get a hole punch (mine has vanished) and punch some holes in a piece of card will the be ok to use? Or will the holes be too small?

I do this...here is what I did for my Astronomer H&E design...

    DSCF0054.JPG DSCF0055.JPG

There are 4 A4 lengths...scanned from the orignal sheets and expanded to fill 4 pages (using Word). Trimmed, laminated and then hole-punched means they will last for ages. I have the colour (approx!) and symbol for each thread already there too! I put each card in a plastic sleeve to protect the threads and then put two cards
back-to-back per coloured wallet as you see above..so I can see which card I want before opening the wallet..it just makes my life easier....with 120 colours, I had to do something!!

Not done any sewing today, went into work this morning, as one of my colleagues called in sick. Will have to do this again tomorrow too, still, it all brings in the pennies!! So much of not working for three weeks!

Have a great day everyone...hope to get some stitching done tomorrow...(possibly tonight :o) .

    Evening all

Hope you are all well. I haven't clicked any of the links as I will not allow you to lead me into temptation :rotfl:;).

My Auntie was over today as she couldn't manage yesterday and for my birthday prezzie I got a Elbesee rotating frame and a tapestry kit, I've never done long stitch before but I'll give it a go sometime.:T:T Also got a lovely sequinned/embroidered top very retro so I'm chuffed to bits.

I have a couple of thread holder thingies that came free with mags but I'm still a hole puncher I use cheap white card.

I'm off now to shout at my boys to get to sleep so I can get some stitching done.

    Happy stitching all x

    Alright, Newton's Law bookmark complete:
    28170_386501401970_582306970_4397958_3268281_n.jpg
    The reverse:

It wasn't really clear how to do the bookmark finishing, so I blagged it. I figure not many people will see it... :rotfl:

On to my Tatty Teddy cross-stitch and here it is so far:

Again it's another Coats Crafts one, so that means that the back-stitching is a bit random to what I'm used to. I find it easier to follow the printed picture.

I'd best get the hang of it, as I've got Twilight's Child to complete at some point and that's going to be the same.

    Morning all

Massive Congratulations Dorastar, on the safe arrival of Sophie. Another excuse to get stitching:j

And a massive Woohoo for me, I've completed Tobys vest... the first part of my May Challenge :D. Just need to iron on the interfacing onto the back so it doesn't rub his delicate little skin. I'm hoping tomorrows blood test will give me the all clear from Glandular Fever so I can give it to him Friday and then post you some pictures.

I went back to the Humphrey's Corner last night, just a bit of confetti stitch, half stitched background and back stitch to go and that will be done too. Can't wait to finish that one.

    Have a great day all

Yeah! Love that bookmark! It turned out great. :T
Tatty Teddy is coming along well too. Hate the backstitching on those kits. Easier using evenweave, but still a nightmare.
