Scrap that
Got the fabric out I had ordered and put away for this piece to find it was distorted
When I laid it out the top was straight but the bottom edge had a 3 inch difference between one side an the other - even though it had been cut along the same line of 'squares' (if you see what I mean) dunno what the heck happened there. It was also a really greyish white colour which definitely wasn't what I ordered.
Wish I could remember where I bought it from, but have just had to order new fabric, plus some more threads which I will need, so £20 down today.:oCross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. oh no! that's aweful!! I had the same thing with one of the 99p stores kits - woven just as wonky. i used a different bit instead and couldnt be too unhappy as it was only 99p but id already cut into it so couldnt take it back. i hope i can use small bits without much noticable wonkiness??Relax, Breathe, Love 2014 Challenges:Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger 23. It wasn't really clear how to do the bookmark finishing, so I blagged it. I figure not many people will see it... :rotfl:
On to my Tatty Teddy cross-stitch and here it is so far:
Again it's another Coats Crafts one, so that means that the back-stitching is a bit random to what I'm used to. I find it easier to follow the printed picture.
I'd best get the hang of it, as I've got Twilight's Child to complete at some point and that's going to be the same.
enjoy yourself sweetcarer
well i have been stitching and i have finished 2 more pages, mind you one of those pages was only 20 stitches wide :rotfl::rotfl:

My update on my Taj Mahal picture - I spotted (with hubby's help) that the 2 sides of the dome were different. It took a lot of counting and measuring but I finally discovered that I was one stitch out on one side which had screwed the dome up. Fortunately it is just the dome that needs redoing so I spent 3 hours last night unpicking it.
I think I'm going to carry on with my May challenge tonight and then retackle the Taj at the weekend. If it still looks wrong after that then I'm going to scream and cry and shred it into a million pieces  - joking :rotfl:I'd never shred anything into a million pieces!

My goodness - it has taken me days and days to catch up with all your posts! I lost my stitching mojo for a bit but am back into it now. I am stitching a sampler for a friend. It will say 'Friends are like stars, you don't always see them, but you know that they are there.' I will post a photo some time soon. I just wanted to pop in and say 'hello'. Later on I must go in search of this quilt thread - please can someone tell me what it's called? It will probably take me days to catch up on that one, too!
Have a happy stitching day everyone!Aspire not to have more but to be more.

Still not done any sewing .
Spent last night watching Avatar...awsome - even on our small-ish TV!! Can't sew and watch, should have been knitting though, but probably wouldn't have got much done...too busy oggling the box...DS2 is talking about watching it again today!
Was working again this morning, cooking (tea for DS1&2) this afternoon, then out for a special tea tonight at a rather posh restaurant. It was once an Art Deco cinema and was lovely the last time we went, but a bit tired-looking. Since then LLB (Laurence LLewelyn Bowen) has worked his magic on it, and it is apparently FAB! The food is rather special (and expensive ), but we have a special celebration tonight. It is 31 years since we "became a couple" :kisses2: We should have celebrated the big 3-0 last year, but I was quite ill, and in and out of hospital, so it sort of passed us by. Making up for it this year though!!
Off to get the spag bol on for the boys before having a shower and getting ready for tonight...will report back tomorrow.
