Bubbles could you get a Welfare Rights Officer from your local council's advice agency to go with you to the tribunal? I used to be a WRO (dim and distant past) and it was part of my job to do things like this. I must admit I hated it because I was terrified; not long after I left I too had a nervous breakdown.
Otherwise, you have to be as savvy as they are mean, I'm afraid. If they ask you how you got there, say how you did but if you were panicky or afraid, tell them that. As far as I can remember from doing Invalidity Benefit/Incapacity Benefit tribunals, you have to tell them how it is for you on your worst days and let them know that the bad days far outnumber any good days, and how unpredictable it is so you don't know from one day to the next how you are going to be. I'm sure someone on the Benefits forum here could probably give you more up-to-date advice.
I have been in touch with welfare rights and they requsted info from all my doctos and my cpn and are supposed to be coming with you but have not been in touch for meeting before hand yet. Im hoping they are going to give me the chance to say something about my life as well as asking questions to things they want to hear.23rdspiral wrote: »Hugs to Bubbles for deciding on the OU!! it might not be the easiest path to take, but it will be fascinating and you will feel so pround of yourself, i'm sure of that! what sort of subject are you looking at?
I'm sorry to repeat myself but are we all/most/anyone still thinking of doing the 'i stitch therefore i stash' but in different colours?
but then, i havent seen a mag with it on the front yet so maybe it isnt out. or maybe you are being good and not doing it just yet? it's just that i'm nearly finished on a 'welcome home' embroidery panel to go into a mini quilt, and after that i will pick up X xstitch again and will need to decide what to do! (patchwork heart, something for my great aunt or the team stitch...)
Its the business studies degree I have enrolled on. I start next month with two small courses, one on understanding business management and the other on understanding society. Im just taking 3 10 point courses and a 30 point course this year but next year im down for doing 2 60 point courses! Hopefully I will be more together by then.
I got my copy of cross stitch crazy this morning, got really disapointed cos there isnt a cover kit, there is a chart book instead but I dont think its the same without acover kit. The panel is in there and looks nice but I dont have anywhere I could put it. Im really looking forward to WOXS coming as there is a little tattoo heart I want to do for my nieces birthday card. Im doing well with presents, got my sister in law a personalised photo mug for £1.99 today for her birthday next month and ordered 10 coasters, some magnets and 5 beer bottle key rings (for the men obviously, gonna cross stitch the little pint design from last cross stitch crazy) so for christmas everyone is going to get a little hamper of cheap personalised things. The even better news is due to pinecone I didnt actually pay for any of it!
My angel is coming along well, I have started the beading on the angel and its looking good, in fact I love it. although still not sure of the colours on the dress!! hahaCross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member No 2 :j

I took my dogs with me to vote today, much to the horror of the lady behind the desk, and some of the other voters. Apparently you are allowed to take your dogs in with you if you want, but other animals are at the discretion of the staff. I voted on the way back from our walkie and it was much more convenient than having to go out again. If you ride a horse to the polling station though, you have to leave it tied up outside. Truly, our rules are quite bizarre, but I think they are quite lenient so as not to put anyone off voting.
We took my dog too! I picked him up and carried bobby in and the guy behind the desk said right just go in there and leave your beautiful dog with me so I can steal him! I said I cant, who do you think is deciding where to put the cross!! It was really weird because it was at my old school and it has changed so much, one of the things I noticed on the way out was a compliment board where you write a nice comment to someone and sign it. I only ever got bullied! lolCross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member No 2 :j

Simac, thanks again, look forward to receiving my parcel.
Witchwoo, thanks for the help about how to use it
Here's my weekly update,
Where I was last week (week 1)
This week (week 2)
Not done much at all really this week. Missed 3 whole days at the weekend because we were busy but I'm not in a hurry to get it done so no matter
On another note my Yankee Candles arrived from ebay this week. OMG they are lush, especially the black cherry one. Can't light them yet though because they are xmas presents
Have got to order some needle threaders later (seem to go through them like they are going out of fashion) from ebay so might treat myself to another one that I don't have to wait till xmas for :rotfl::heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -

hi i have done maths, you and your money and health and social care, they are great because i can do them around the kids and the financial support is a god send as i can't afford to do courses with out it. i think you will really enjoy it, i had to stop doing health and social care as i had some personal problems and they were great i have spoken to an carers adviser with the ou to see which courses i should do (as when the kids are all at school i want to train to be a midwife) and they helped me out, so im hoping to start health and social care again in october as long as i still qualify for financial support. you have a dedicated tutor who you can email if you have any problems, my experience with the ou has been all positive and i hope you enjoy your course13 in 2013 challenge 9/130 -

Thanks Simac and Harley. What else is in the mag? I can't justify buying a mag this month for just one chart IYSWIM. Maria - ooh I do hope so!!
I've not done any Xstitch since the kitchen motto as i've had other projects that have needed time, so it would be good to have an excuse!
Bubbles - good luck. Business will be a useful and interesting subject and i'm sure it will be of use in many ways. Also, it sounds like you are facing it in sensible chunks. That's the bit i didnt do with my last degree, part time living an hours motorway drive from the uni. it was fascinating but bad for my health if i'm honest. i really wish i'd split it up more but only found out a few years later that that was possible - i think they wanted to make sure they'd get all my money!
