Got no stitching at all done today. But it doesnt matter as i had a good day in that i went out to eat a pub meal with my mum and dad (this is hard for me, and first time ive eaten out since my last tablet switch) and went to b and q after. And every little outing is making me one step closer to recovery.

I now need justification that its ok to spend £22 on card wallets to store threads in (unless anyone can find a cheeper acid free storage system). Oh and talking of acid free (ive saw the problems of storing stuff with none acid free paper/ card etc) are there acid free stickers i can label the walets with (if no one can tell me a cheeper system).

Basically im sorting a list of 100 skeins to buy and fabric and planning on buying the lapframe so may/ june will be a expensive sewing month for me. Its looking like a total of over £100, not very mse at all.

Blimey, I think managing to go out for lunch and B & Q on a Saturday is more than enough justification for rewarding yourself with a treat costing £22.

You must have felt elated by the time you got home from your day out, well done on your achievement !. :T:T:T

Just wished I had a sharp needle for it as I was using a standard needlecraft needle, so a bit of hard work.

I have a spare sharp needle if you would like it?
It came with the poundland kits I bought and is nice and sharp for piercing fabric. I tried stitching with it but found the eye of it made the holes in the fabric a little larger than I would like so just use it for piercing fabric when doing fractional stitches.

If you would like it PM me your details and I'll get it in the post as soon as I can.

I'm hoping to settle down to get a bit done today. :)

Thanks Shelly, I'll send a PM over with my address, I'll keep it to hand for when I do Twilight's Child.

hmmmm cross-stitch crazy did you say .............

Right that does it.... me and DS are getting dressed - hitting tesco car-boot sale and treating myself.

I'm up for the stitch/stash competition.

Tho DH has now got me addicted to beating him at snooker on the PS2 so with baby no-naps in the day 3 days a week and work the other 4 (that makes 7 doesn't it) I'm not getting much evening to myself.

ohhh and then tomorow my wheat will need harvesting, something re-planting, bread to cook, sandwiches and yogurt to make........

Not sure what course to do yet, must admit im interested in doing the intro one to Law........think it could be far too hard though.

Emzy - If you're interested, go for it! I never did the introductory course, but I'm in my second year of a law degree with the OU. From what I remember, the intro to law course is designed for people who haven't studied for a while or are new to the subject, so it's ideal if you want to test the waters. :)

Whilst searching on ebay for anchor threads i found a pretty cheap supplier which offered 5-100 skeins clicky might save some time rather than matching them up.
