OHHHHH thats the one I'm half way thro. except instead of doing 1 big project each are on individual squares which monster-in-law were gonna stitch onto a patchwork blanket for DS before he was born...... 18 months ago!!
I really outta finish it but if I remember correctly some of the squares frayed loads at the edges so wouldn't stitch on very well...... kinda made me loose my motivation as not really sure what I'd do with it now.loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -
Hi, why not add some colourful ribbon/lace just before the frayed edges and that would then give a little more length to sew onto your quilt etc.:)Love generously, praise loudly, live fully

That is lovely
It's quite expensive, no wonder hubby would have a fit lol. Have you had a look on ebay to see if you can perhaps get the chart on it's own?Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. Fairies still not finished but am going to spendtoday and tomorrow alternating housework, school work, playing with kids and stitching so hopefully will be done by the end of Monday - or by end of week if not!
My HAE arrived yesterday - is seriously a mammoth project but looks like there a quite a lot of blocks of same colour so they should be fairly easy. Am not going to start it for a while but have never done such a big one before - where am I best starting and is it better to do blocks of colour or work through squares of 10x10 stitches or what? I normally start in centre of designs but that seems a bit impossible hidden somewhere in 40+ pages of charts!Mortgage £119,533 going down slowly

I would still start in the centre, with such a large design it would be even more important to make sure it is lined up correctly.
What I did with charts with multiple pages was lay them all out on the floor so you have the picture. Then number them all clearly and keep them in a folder.. It will be easy enough then to pick out the centre of the design and start work from there.
I usually do page at a time, I mark the fabric with water soluble pen - it's much easier to count and jump about the page that way (for using up extra thread left on the needle etc) plus less likely to make mistakes.Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. I'm posting from pg 128:eek: although I have looked at the pictures and they are beautiful :T:T
Well done to all the April challenge finishers.
I failed terribly:( but that's more or less the norm for me anyway. I intend to get my hedgehog finnished over the next couple of days as I am stitching again and then crack on with my May stuff.
Witchywoo I found Daniel last night he'll be winging his way to you tomorrow!
Welcome to all the newbies
Right off to get the rest of my house work done then I can stitch for a while.
I'm not a muggle...I'm just magically challenged0 -
Nmm Well done on your April challenge it looks great :j that Mr men chart looks great
welldone to Chickywiggle too :j
Craftgranny That kit does look good but yep expensive! Hopefully you'll be able to find just the chart, I'll keep an eye out for you
Dorastar Hope your son is ok, and good luck with your HAED, I was looking at mine again the other day, I really love the picture but all the confetti stitching was getting me no where fast, I'm thinking maybe starting a different page that at least has a few stitches of the same colour all together, once I see a bit done it might spur me back on again, but I've got enough to do at the moment! I might try a wash out pen tooit seems to work well for you Louise
Hi FunFairPrincess hope you haven't got too much house work to do and then you can relax and stitch
I went to a carboot today and picked up a couple of cross stitch books, not sure if they are any good but they cost me £2 altogether so I'll have a Gluck through them later with a cup of tea and choc hobnobs0
