Hi Folks,
Hope everyone gets a chance to stitch this weekend.
Louise - That looks sooooo good, just like a painting:j. I'm hoping to do a Monet in the near future and I hope it will look half as good as that.
My frames have arrived:j:j, only ordered them Tuesday evening and they arrived yesterday (Friday), fantastic considering they are made to measure. More expensive than standard shop ones, but the service is brilliant and the quality fab as well www.pictureframesexpress.co.uk
Framed the baby orangutan this morning www.gallery.me.com/judith0909 (Cross stitch folder-2nd one, then scroll down)
DS3 is sooo pleased and it now has pride of place in his room.
Have started again on the tigers and will update later. Can't wait to finish them now I have the frame for them.
Happy stitching

Judellie - it looks fantastic :T
Do you mind if I ask how much your frame was? I might consider using that site for a couple of completed pictures I have.
Look forward to seeing your tiger update xCross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. Hi Louise
Thanks for your kind comment.
I ordered 2 frames - the one for the orangutan was approx 12in x 10in was £14.08 plus vat and one for the white tigers approx 14in x 11in with a mount was 17.73 plus vat. The overall total was £49.49 including vat and postage:eek: - but worth it as I couldn't find standard ones that fitted exactly and I figure when you've put that amount of work into it I want it to look good hanging on the wall!
It's the second time I've ordered from them and they've been spot on both times, in terms of size, quality and speed of delivery.

Hi Gang
Long awaited but I got to order my materials for the golden earth/orange lady. I treated myself to aida with the grid lines already on it - called magic guide aida. My boss was the office a couple of days this week, so seeing as my work was up to date I did some preparation work for it.
I printed out the design on the laser machine so I can mark it off as I go. Then I made wee lamiated cards as thread holders. (10 colours per card - total of 75 threads). Attached a photo of how it all looks. I have even ordered a single punch for the thread holders - was only £2.50 in ebay.
Here is what it should look like at end - don't know if it is totally differenct from Mrs Macs.
I am not to keen on back stitch myself. Lucky the floral alphabet had none except for when putting in the names. Looking at the golden earth I can't see any.
Well off to continue with Z before I start to feel the zzz again. I get quite tired alot (I have diabetes), I don't know how I manage a full time job at times - maybe the nap after work helps. Have a great day everyone. Hope you are well in your part of the world - happy stitching.

Jude - I looked at your framing website - might order the frame there - I know its more expensive but it is not a standard size and I did put alot of effort into the floral alphabet - it deserves it.:j cross stitch forever, housework whenever :j0 -
Though I'm not sure how to cover the back of them and not make them too thick to go through the laminator. Might get some cheap white cotton material from Dunelm and loosely tack it to the back.....will have to think about that one.
Thinking MSE, you could look in a charity shop for some cotton to back your project? an old napkin or something?
Everyone has been cracking on so much, i feel bad that all i've done is the first 10 'x's for the Japanese Doll - i dont like starting and finding the middle is filldly so i wanted to do that before i was sitting waiting to take off on holiday.
i've only done backstitch in Xstitch for the words on my mothers day card, but i hope it's not harder than keeping all my loops the same width & tension doing 'chain stitch' embroidery!Relax, Breathe, Love 2014 Challenges:Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger 23. Hi girls i'm usually on the card making bit but my grandaughter wants me to stitch her something. I vaguely remember something about a princess sleeping thats quite popular and wondered if anyone could point me in the direction of a kit or chart please
I've been lurking on here since the start but never posted although i do thank you each time i read a post.
Louise that picture is beautiful and i've watched with interest as it's grown . Mrs macawber your pictures are always stunning i wish i could stitch that well. I have done loads of smaller kits and a couple of birth samplers but nothing on that scale.
Sweetcarer that flower alphabet is great i can't believe how much you've done.
I do have a ufo and when i dig it out i'll post a pic it's not very big but it's boring it is done in assorted shades of purple and is a kit mum bought me before she died. I want to finish it but all those similar shades send me crazy. Sorry to ramble .Cross Stitch Challenge Member Number 20

Backstitch isn't hard, it's just boring and I ony hate it in large quantities really. My problem was doing a tatty ted progejct and leaving ALL the backstitch for the end. There was loads of it and it really bored me. Now I choose projects that don't have too much and I try to keep up with it as I go along rather than all at the end.0
