Wow everyone is getting on with their projects now!
*Louise* I can't believe your painted lady is almost complete! She's looking beautiful!
I'm in a bit of a cross-stitch slump at the moment, I know I should be doing some, but just don't have the motivation.I've also started a little cottage, but even that's not tempting me at the moment.
I'll go through periods like this, I've been working pretty solidly on this one for quite a while, so I've probably run out of steam for now. I'm off to my mum's this weekend, so I'll probably take it with me, as it's good to do when I'm there.
While I'm here, what are your recommendations for reasonably priced frame websites? I've got some that need to be framed and since I'm no longer with my ex, who used to make them from B&Q picture frame wood, I'm a bit stuck for reasonably priced ways of framing. I prefer simple frames without glass.0 -
Hi Ruth
How are you getting on today love I have been thinking of you today hope today went ok and you managed to keep yourself busy.0 -
Thanks girls. It means a lot that you're here to help me get through this. I have done a bit of stitching today, but mostly I've been in pain. My back is really hurting and my knee is very sore. I've had some painkillers and a hot bath, but it's not working. I've no idea where my TENS machine has disappeared to, so might have to try a hot water bottle and more Nurofen. Maybe it's 3 weeks of sleeping on an air bed finally getting to me-although it didn't seem that bad at the time.
Anyway, I've started a old cover kit of some tulips. It's from Cross Stitcher 199 and it's a design I really like. I love tulips and they do remind me of Grandma, but I feel ok today, so stitching them isn't making me cry!I've only done about an hour on it as I feel really tired now. Maybe I'll have a quick nap before DH gets home...

Thanks to all the girls in the Cross Stitch Cafe! You're all fantastic! :A0 -
Tajke care of that back Ruth - pity you can't find your TENS machine...it'll probably turn up once your back has recovered!
I have mine on daily, and have done for the past 6 months or more...couldn't do without!
I find cold works better than heat on my back and knees, it is also recommended by my physio. So if you don't have a cold pack or ice power gel/spray, go for the pack of frozen peas/sweetcorn...could work wonders!! Just don't leave it on your back for too long, if you need it in the kidney area.....:o. I find wrapping it in a tea-towel stops it being too cold on the skin, and helps to catch the drips! Take care of yourself...I agree about the air-bed not doing your back any good!
Mmmm, like Kez, I don't seem to be doing much cross-stitch atm...might get some done tonight, though I will probably knit instead...depends how cold the conservatory gets!!
Must get DH to help me set up a new image sharing site, so I can let you see what stiching I have been doing over the past few weeks.
See you later folks....and keep on stitching!

Sorry to hear some people have lost their mojo. It happens to all of us.
When I feel dispondent - I think of the finished project and all the ahhs I get lol. I use my cross stitch as an aid to help me forget the day and try and unwind - feel regretful that I left it alone for a few years. I have a few magazines (couple of years worth) of kits to be done too. As some one says in their quote one stitch is another closer finishing. Why not trying doing a bit on a smaller project and at least you will feel satisfied you have done something.
Kind wishes
sweetcarer
Wishing I could be at home stitching instead of working :j cross stitch forever, housework whenever :j0 -

Well, I did more knitting last night ...too cold in the conservatory and had a bit of a headache, so sewing was not really a good idea. Hope you enjoyed your puzzle Kez

Actually sweetcarer, it was the smaller project of DS2's Rugby Teddy birthday card that took me away from The Astronomer in the first place...and now I want to make a congratulations one as well...in a Scotland strip...this will need a it of tweaking, and I want to do it without DS2 seeing it...so I will wait until he's away in Scotland this weekend.
I do want to get some sewing done today, but need to get the bread started first, as well as bake some buns and hob-nobs...there is always something else to do! But I will be strong and fit in at least a few minutes sewing later.
Have a great day everyone...looks like it will be another sunny one!
