Help please. I'm suffering from inspiration overload. So many ideas on this thread; one link leads to another; so many blogs to follow; so many books to look at. I'm spending so much time catapulting from one idea to the next I'm not getting much done at all.
Currently I'm knitting a lacy scarf for a friend for next Christmas. Not a quick project but it's growing a bit very day. I'll post a picture when it's done.lucy.thornton wrote: »Me too Susan! It's a hobby in itself, just reading all the brilliant ideas and following the links to people's craft blogs, then following another link to another blog or website.... then my computer freaks out because I've got too many windows open!
As well as saving all the web addresses, I've also got a little notebook that I'm writing all the ideas in, but they're all over the place at the mo and I am enjoying looking at everyone else's so much that I haven't started making any of them! Must get organised..... maybe I'll make myself a journal with different sections for different crafts....
It's a lovely problem to have though:staradminHuuuuuuge thank you hugs to all posters:staradmin0 -
I'm another leftie...
In the Dunhelm Sale they have their very large fleece blankets down from £14.99 to £9.99 which would be good for Slankets..
I have been making a few French noticeboards after making one for a friend for Christmas and she loved it.. I so love my cheap and cheerful staple gun! To save money I bought a single quilt cover and pillowcase from Dunhelm for £5.99. I have not got flicker or anything to post photos on but it has large squares with a strawberry on, cherries on another square, a big cupcake on another, a large flower on another, little hearts all over another, little flowers another and spots on another... It would be great not just for noticeboards.. but also for patchwork, cushions etc..0 -
Hello I have just spend avery enjoyable evening reading this thread. Thank you everyone for a lot of great ideas. Due to being off sick I had to cut back on last years christmas presents and I did make a few gifts for close friends. One of the most enjoyable ones was a empty coffee jar filled with white and pink paper shapes. On each shape I wrote an idea for my friend to do ie. Eat a doughnut without licking your lips. Phone a friend.I hope someone finds this useful. I am looking forward to making lots of things this year. Keep smiling. x0

Finished my fluffy scarf for my niece tonight, and my eyelash wook came in handy woohoo! so glad I didn't give it away now.. I made a fringer for the scarf with it.... I think it turned out quite well
It was bugging me since I started knitting it why I felt the colours were so familiar, and it was only when I started eating my cadbury's caramel that I realised it's the caramel bunnys colours yellow and purple (ok a lighter purple) but now I know why my niece loves the colours it reminds her of sweets lol.. gonna try and get some pics posted on my blog soon - only just started the blog so will have to truely get stuck in!
how is everyone else getting on with their crafty creations??

Love the idea of the notice board. What a shame you cant post a photo. Have you got a photo on your computer? If so you could pm one of us and we could post it for you.0 -
So many more good ideas - lovely. I just realised that its my friend's birthday this week and so I'v eput my xmas knitting on hold today to knit her a scarf. I have so purple eyelash wool and I'm adding a gold thread so hopefully it will look all sparkly when it's finished.
Everyone keeps mentioning their Dunhelm Mill bargains but we don't have one near here - probably just as well or I'd end up spending money again :rotfl::rotfl::snow_laug HM Christmas 2010

Fab! On a side note, I picked up a copy of Simply Knitting today - I only tend to get it if they have a good toy pattern in. This months is the Alan Dart pierrot's, which are super cute!
BUT, if anyone interested there is a section with quick knits, which I thought would be ideal gifts, including a scraper mit (a mitten with a pouch to hold your scraper while you scrape the ice), hot water bottle cover, basic woollen hat, gold club cosy, pin cushion to name a few.
Sorry that I am mostly posting about knitting! I seem to be in that phase at the moment...
Pierrot and Pierrette look fab, I must get this magazine.
