Skinned teddies?! LOL. Bless 'em. I bet the new knitted ones are very pleased with their new eyes and innards though
) They sound super cute.
I couldn't find the swatch button on CK either so I emailed them directly (orderenquiries@cathkidston.co.uk), and requested the samples I liked... only did this last night so will keep you posted. Fingers crossed they arrive. Good luck in snooty selfridges today0 -

I don't knit lol(being a leftie I never did learn properly and find it very difficult), I make fabric things, and bits and pieces will post some pics soon to show you xx
Welcome by the way, you sound really fun and interested and that always makes me excited to think someone else out there has the 'bug'

Whoops - getting confused who's a knitter and who's a sew-ist! Look forward to seeing your pics.
So sorry to hear about Caitlin, Liesa - I lost a close friend when I was 12 and I found that writing her a letter helped me a bit (I think this was suggested when you first posted - hope your daughter's coping okay (((((hug)))))
PS definitely have the crafting bug - badly. I am supposed to be ironing and cleaning now while my hubby and one-year-old brave the supermarkets for supplies..... shhhh.0 -
I just thought... If you wanted to get a dress as a present, but you're no good at sewing or are short of supplies, there are loads of dresses in Jane Norman that are in the sale. After that, you could get some flowers in Hobby Craft and tie it on, before getting some sparkly ribbon and tie it on. Voila! A beautiful flowery unique dress that was easy to make!I do have a tendency to talk about utter nonsense at the weirdest of times :rotfl:Happily Crafting away in my Fortress of Solitude (Bedroom

I am a leftie too - I think a lot of us creative and fabulous types often are :rotfl:Everyone laughs at me when I knit because I had to invent my own way to do it. I still can't follow patterns though so am stuck on doing squares and scarves.:snow_laug HM Christmas 2010

We used to do it till we couldn't poke the wool through anymore... so more or less till the holes were gone. I lost count of the amount of pom pom 'bugs' my sis and I used to make
Memories!
td111 briliant bargains there. Was that charity shops? I need a good charity shop rummage! Fed up of being stuck in!
oh yes!!! charity shops rule!!!!!!!!!!!!!:T0 -
Pin Cushion Ring for all you sewers out there today: http://handmadeheartfelted.blogspot.com/
I've got a "Knit your own scarf and hat" set. I've had it for two years. I tried to practice on a small square, kept getting holes, loops etc.
Does practice make you better?
The kit is chunky needles and wool - is that harder or easier than skinny needles? I am scared to have a go as I don't want to make a pigs ear of it!

My Mum used to call it boutique shopping - so if you see me saying I'm going to hit the Boutiques you know where I'm off toThey are quite expensive round my way but where my MIL lives in Hastings they are brilliant! The bargains she comes away with. Our ones it's sometimes cheaper to go to the actual shop than the charity shops.
:staradminHuuuuuuge thank you hugs to all posters:staradmin0 -
I'm a leftie too:D
I can knit but not crochet. Had to learn to knit right handed though.
Just thought I'd let you all know that Claire's Accessories have started their 5 items for £5 sale. I managed to get quite a lot of bits and have posted on my blog. Hoping to pop back today as they had lots of unusual beaded necklaces which with hindsight would be great to de-construct and use for embellishments and making other pieces of jewellery.
I've got to stop shopping for craft stuff and start making!0 -

I have so many bits and bobs but sometimes it can be expensive when you need the catchment bits and pieces. I really want to do some crafting this afternoon but I have to do my bedroom it is in a terrible state.
Would you all be kind enough, if out on your travels, you see any lovely duvet covers that would be good for my patchwork quilt. I am trying to keep it to about 20 quid if possible. Thanks! :T
