I wonder if anyone has a easy to follow pattern for fingerless gloves? Ive seen a fantastic pair in the shops that are like mittens but you han flip open the top to make them fingerless. Id like a pair for my 6 year old and a pair for me.
Anyone know of such a free pattern??? but it would have to be easy. and i cant crochet only knit, Id be so grateful as im easy to make it but no idea where to start!
Glittens! There's a great tutorial for fleece glittens here - http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=276577.0 I don't know about knitted patterns unfortunately - I've not yet learnt to knit, but got a sewing machine for christmas, so have been searching for tutorials to put that to good use!0 -

I can knit but not crochet. Had to learn to knit right handed though.
Just thought I'd let you all know that Claire's Accessories have started their 5 items for £5 sale. I managed to get quite a lot of bits and have posted on my blog. Hoping to pop back today as they had lots of unusual beaded necklaces which with hindsight would be great to de-construct and use for embellishments and making other pieces of jewellery.
I've got to stop shopping for craft stuff and start making!
Just had a look-- you got some brilliant bargains!:staradminHuuuuuuge thank you hugs to all posters:staradmin0 -
I wish I was 'craftier' I'm a lefty, can't knit, and my sewing machine is dead after my teenage son decided to make a pair of blue tartan trousers (LOL- they actually looked ok) Though been reading through the thread and bookmarked loads of ideas
Last year I made lots of hampers, one thing that seemed to go down well was 'sand art' grilled chicken mix.
I'm half indian so have a stock cupboard full of masala powders. I saved up all those little spice jars and layered the following spices in this order
1tbsp tumeric powder
1 tsp cayenne pepper ( or less..;))
1tbsp salt
1tbsp black pepper powder
2 tsp garlic powder
1 tbsp paprika
1tbsp cumin powder
It looked so pretty!
Then I made a label with the instructions
mix the whole container with a little oil and juice of a lemon
make slits on 2kgs of skinned chicken thighs and use to marinate .
Roast or bbq till cooked.
I've got pics if anyone is interested.
Already saving more bottles for next year and thinking of other curry sand arts I can do!Jan GC £153/ £3000 -

I love the colours of spices and keep trying to convince hubby we need a spice tin with all the little pots in!0 -
I`d like to see them to fionut :-), look forward to it.
I spent the last two days leaning to knit. I bought the "knitting for dummies book", i both handed, cant spell ampidextrous.
What fun, took 4 hours to cast on...now use one needle on thumb. And last night i was knitting and purling, done about 8 rows of 50 stitches. in 8 hours, but in places the books hard to follow and i`ve had to put a label on my right hand saying "knit with this hand" my partner thinks i`ve lost the plot.
What i`m knitting i dont know, i`m practicing.
Havent made any cards but i`m working on another project so if it works out ok I can tell if not....one for the bin..Challenge 2018 - Learn by heart the Book by Wayne Morgan on Amazon - Betfair Football Trading as it helps to supplement my small income :beer:0 -
I have so many bits and bobs but sometimes it can be expensive when you need the catchment bits and pieces. I really want to do some crafting this afternoon but I have to do my bedroom it is in a terrible state.
Would you all be kind enough, if out on your travels, you see any lovely duvet covers that would be good for my patchwork quilt. I am trying to keep it to about 20 quid if possible. Thanks! :T

Of course I'll keep an eye out. Infact I will let you all know if I spot any bargains that I think could be used for crafting or cheap pressies. As you can probably guess the shoe jewellery stands are gifts for DD friends.
Thank you to everyone that is following my blog. I will try and get round to doing some crafting soon and will post my results.
Take care in the snow and ice.0 -
