There are charities that knit woollens for rescued battery hens as they are in such bad condition after their miserable factory farm experiences, poor little things.
Oh, I didn't know that.I think in this case they meant chickens in their garden.

We really are getting a lot of snow aren't we? Suppose it is good in one way, means I can't get out to do as much as normal and I should be crafting, but at the moment its on the back burner, two of my girls aren't in school today and it has been lovely taping them in the garden playing. I wonder if there is a way to include this to send to a distant relative as a present? What do you lot think?

There is loads of snow where I live, so I can`t go anywhere.... plenty of crafting and research at home tho... which is lovely.
Just got a batch of shortbread biscuits in the oven... mmm warm shortbreads dusted with sugar!

Hi all, I don't know if anyone has posted this already - apologies in advance - but I picked up today a kit for 99p - called 'The Art of Crotchet' it comes complete with 4mm crotchet hook, redcurrent yarn and biscuit practise yarn as well as a magazine and a dvd with easy to follow step by step instructions. I've been wanting to learn to crotchet and this is so cheap I couldn't help but snap it up. In the 2nd issue it will have another ball of pink wool along with a ring binder to store all your magazines etc... and the usual price after that will be £2.99...
Just thought i'd let everyone know and to check there local newsagents..... even if you get the first one or 2 it's well worth it for 99p for the first one anyhoo

thank you for your kind words.. and I hope all those that have left nice thoughts noticed that I have tried to thank your thread
Went to see Caity's mum today and drop in the card I had made, she was in bed but I did see two of her other girls and we had a good hug, not much was said, but Lucy got to tell them how much she missed her best friend. It felt awful, but looking back I am so glad I went round to show that we love them and we are there for them.

Deffo, mam's got one too, but she already knows how to crotchet, she wants to collect them and save them for my niece for when she's older so she can go to granny's and learn a hobby/craft.
well done on the sale

I bought the kit too but i'm such a lefty I found it reall yhard to follow. I'll have to wait till the kids go back to school and look up some more help vids on youtube.
The first kit is def worth the money - 2 little balls of yarn and the hook and instructions fro 99p - or it will be if I ever work out how to use it :rotfl::snow_laug HM Christmas 2010
