I'd like to join this club!
I used to be into card making and stamping etc, but fell by the wyaside...I don't want to invest as much as I did before (I have stacks I should be using up!!!) but I would like to use it somehow for Christmas Pressies for 2010....like someone posted on the first page, I only want to have bought pressies for my son and my nephews, and the rest (parents and MIL) to have homemade goodies....I normally make up store bought items into hampers, but there is so much more I know I could do!
My sister is utterly fantastic at nappy cakes and sells quite a few through word of mouth and ebay, in fact this year she made me a cake using a slanket, jammies, slippers and a mug of tea....it was the best pressie I got!! Really inventive!!!
So this year I want to be able to learn a new craft and give something back to her, or indeed add to her collection....maybe even go into business with her....I think I am getting ahead of myself here...lol...but I think you get the idea of where I want to be....
So....now where do I start?:rotfl:

one question, you know the clear stamps, how do you use them? do you not need something to mount them on??
emmy xx
If you look at some of these stamp sets, they come with the acrylic mounts (one set I bought had 3 different sized mounting blocks).
I'm busy buying supplements to my craft stash at the moment, but not actually doing very much:cool:. You lot are making me feel sooo guity, but I have promised myself a crafty day on Thursday if the housework is done, so hopefully will have something to post then.
Clinton Cards has some fab bargains atm, I got some gorgeous art deco glittered wrapping paper which will cut up nicely to make decoupage for 10p. Details of my little spree are on my blog if anyone is interested.
I've just ordered myself a BIGSHOT and a load of dies as I have decided that it will be good investment (Mum owed me a couple of birthday pressies and a Christmas pressie, so I ordered and she paid:rotfl:). Can't wait for the delivery now, but have a horrid feeling that the weather is going to delay my order.0 -
Hi everyone,
Made a cupcake keyring last night - not brilliant but I don't think its bad for a first attempt given my poor sewing skills. With a little tweaking I thought they might make nice little gifts to go with the cupcake bathbombs mentioned on here to give to my daughters teachers etc. Picture on my blog - http://craftingmad.wordpress.com/ as till don't know how to load pictures onto here.Mortgage - £2338.07 paid off Feb 2023 BTL 1 £51,089.10 £35789.36 paid off July 2025 BTL 2 £81,504.52 BTL 3 £77,497.020 -
OOh, I don't know how you can't love stamping jamtart, you get almost immediate results without having to be able to draw. There are loads of things you can do with stamps, just check out this enormous resource for gifts and whatnots:

Click on titles for instructions.I sold any stamps I did have off, and just don't get the attraction. Saying that I've seen people make lovely things with stamps...just not me

I love all of the links that have been put up - that teddy bear is soooo cute!!! I also really liked that chain of knitted things on Kirsty's homemade home (in childrens playroom) but I bet it would be really hard!!! lol.

Have had to do the hardest card of my life today.:(
My daughter's best friend died yesterday.. aged 8. I am in a terrible state and cannot pick myself up today. She was the sweetest, cutiest, cheekiest little thing and I feel honoured and priviledged to have shared in her short life. My daughter is so upset and as the snow falls silently on my garden I can't help but think that the world has lost someone truly special.
She had an asthma attack and died in her mum's arms.
I hope you don't mind me posting, I just am alone right now and not sure how to stop crying.
