I am attempting to make some glass tile pendants, after having seen them on the Fiddle Fart blog. I am just wondering if anyone else has tried these (...or even if the Fiddle Fart lady would like to comment herself?) as I am really struggling with ink running.

I first printed the images onto standard printer paper but they bled like crazy when I applied the Anita's glaze and adhered to the tile. I then tried printing onto glossy photo paper which gave a nice crisp image, but again bled. I then did a bit of digging on the web and one tutorial suggested to use a fixitive over the image before glazing & attaching the tile. I purchased fixative from an art supplies shop, but despite using this, the image still bled and blurred like crazy.

    Any suggestions???

li'lp, if you look on 'It's All Fiddle Fart' you'll find Helen's email if you would like to contact her about this problem. (I won't put it on here for privacy reasons). The blog address is http://itsallfiddlefart.blogspot.com/ and her email address you will find in the righthand sidebar. HTH

Just posting this here as I thought it might be something that we could make up as little gifts for others. They could be personalised but I tried laminating fabric just to see if it worked and it did, I made these bookmarks with some offcuts of Cath Kidston cotton, I guess you could do placemats and all kinds this way:

    more pics elsewhere :)

Kandi - love the bookmarks and what a super lot of stuff on your blog :T You're not the only 'button freak'.........I'm working my way through mums old buttons and adding the odd extra ones for colours I haven't got for more button necklaces (gave up on the bracelets -I got in such a pickle)
I've got some fabric I had as free samples -plus I ordered some more yesterday so looks like it's book marks for one and all...............lol
Would it work if I stuck the fabric onto some offcuts of foam I've got ? I don't have a laminator.

Well, now got 7 specs cases done ...........:j OH had a hospital appt. on Wednesday so before hand we did a bit of shopping and I got a lovely bag of fabric remnants for 50p from charity shop........9 different ones.........so I've turned some of them into specs cases by wrapping them round the foam I'd got and then blanket stitched round the edge -might keep one for myself;) Not sure I know 7 people who wear specs but they'd do for sun specs anyway.
Then got my beer mats out and covered them with paper, added post it notes and a bull dog clip so they hang on the wall...........got three done.
So, I'm getting there...........oh, and cut out some embroidered roses from an old top I had and added them to a pair of plain gloves...............left with one rose and a leaf now...........not sure what to do with those yet.
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Wow you lot have been busy, Ive not been here for a while so a lot to catch up with :o

My OH has just sorted the shed and we had an old (last yrs) gazebo that got dammaged one very windy day, he was going to take it to the tip but I grabbed it off him and cut it up into very large squares, it will make great garden kneeling pads and picnic blaneket (I will sew a blanket on top) as it is like tent material.
The side windows I am going to put on ebay to help fund my ever growing list of things to make :rotfl:
Getting myself sorted 1 day/1thing at a time :) and Love sewing :)
