Wde mary on finishing your scrapbook, i know how much effort goes into them, perhaps you should call it something short like memories, or "Its wonderful sharing with family " or "Our family is a priceles gem, and I treasure ours" or "thank you for our family"
Family make life more beautiful
Families are never apart
A family is forever
The only way to have a family is to join one
Anyhow enough of that, reading back they`re not that good but might inspire you into something....
Have a good bank holiday everyone.Challenge 2018 - Learn by heart the Book by Wayne Morgan on Amazon - Betfair Football Trading as it helps to supplement my small income :beer:0 -
susan -thanks for the ideas............I'll have a think and see what OH says. Get the feeling I'll have to put a load in a hat and do a lucky draw...............lol
Started scrapbook number 2 (already had made a bit of a start) and getting on ok............well pleased with it.
Think I've over filled the first one but with a ribbon tied round it it'll be ok I think.
Got a pot of buttons staring at me.........really must do some more button necklaces..........I'd like one for myself - oh and what a pickle............I'd got an index box, covered it with nice paper and started printed off recipes for foster daughter.............now she's found out she has to have a gluton free diet !! Looks like I've got to start all over again unless I give it to someone else.I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

My sister-in-law went on a gluten free diet, she was very ill and they discovered that was what she needed to do. She is very healthy now and a lot slimmer too.
I bet your foster daughter would appreciate a recipe folder with gluten free recipes (you'll probably find some on the net) and this may help you, its an internet printable recipe 'thingamabob.' You type your recipe details on the form and it makes up a pretty recipe card that you can print out.

This would be useful for anyone for a present, maybe include the recipes in a hamper?I don't want to make money, I just want to be wonderfulMarilyn Monroe0 -
qwiksave - thanks for that link. I'd been printing recipes off the bbc website - ordinary ones- just one for each letter of the alphabet and when I got to XYZ I changed that to 'Household Tips'. I've been looking on the net for gluton free recipes but not had much luck........I really just want 'main course' ones and she can add other things she finds herself.
She is much better now she's changed her diet thank goodness.I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

I've just had a look on the BBC website and there are over 3000 recipes for gluten free recipes and I found plenty more searching google.
It's a nuisance if you have to start again after doing all that work already though. Maybe someone else would appreciate what you've done so far?I don't want to make money, I just want to be wonderfulMarilyn Monroe0 -

qwiksave - thanks -I'll have another look over the weekend. I seemed to keep finding pudding and cake recipes all the time so gave up in the end.
It is a nuisance having to do it all again but to be honest she's worth it and if I count the ones I've done I bet its not as many as I'm thinking so may not be so bad.I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

I bought a fleece jacket (sort of thin tracksuit zipup jacket) for £1 in the Happit clearance shop we have, went up to homebargains and bought iron on diamonte pattern to put on. My daughter is dead chuffed with it so I'm off into town tomorrow with rough sizes to see how many girls in the family can get the same thing for christmas. They won't know the jackets only cost £1 so I reckon I could do quite a few pressies like this. If only boys would wear diamonte and I could have done them all, lol...0

The reason you find pudding & cake recipes are because those are the ones that are more difficult on a gluten free diet. Being gluten-free means not eating wheat, which is mainly items containing flour. She will need to look at labels as manufacturers put wheatgerm, gluten powder etc into many goods both sweet & savoury, often when they are not expected, but most savoury recipes done at home are naturally gluten free. Stews, cottage pie etc have no gluten except if thickened with flour, then just substitute cornflour instead which is gluten free.
You will propably find some of your recipes are fine for a gluten free diet.My two sons & I all have an Autistic Spectrum Disorder.0 -
