Well not much crafting done today..........blaming it on young lad we care for deciding to stay out all night so I had to go through the process of reporting him as not here and wait 2 hours for the police to come and take a few details. He turned up this morning.......knew he would...............lol
So I felt too tired to do a lot till I had a delivery of 'freebie' pens...............10 of them........so I set too and covered the plain part with pretty paper....I've got some little boxes I had some little floral embellishments in that'll be ideal if I make some notelets and pop a pen in as well. Did bit more to scrapbook no.2 as well so day not totally wasted.I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

The reason you find pudding & cake recipes are because those are the ones that are more difficult on a gluten free diet. Being gluten-free means not eating wheat, which is mainly items containing flour. She will need to look at labels as manufacturers put wheatgerm, gluten powder etc into many goods both sweet & savoury, often when they are not expected, but most savoury recipes done at home are naturally gluten free. Stews, cottage pie etc have no gluten except if thickened with flour, then just substitute cornflour instead which is gluten free.
You will propably find some of your recipes are fine for a gluten free diet.
Mary just want to second this. My son is gluten free, and a lot of recipes are fine anyway, some just need e.g. gluten free breadcrumbs instead of ordinary, or cornflour instead of flour. If you want to send me any of the ones you have just pm me and I am happy to look at them. Also if you go to coeliac.org.uk they have loads of information about ingredients that are/aren't OK, so you could maybe check your recipes that way too.0 -
Thanks careof3 (must have missed your post) and elyphant .........I'll do a list of ingredients and pop it in the index box with the ones I've already done. Have to make sure now I look for gluton free ones just to be on the safe side. I'd hate to give her a recipe box full of stuff she couldn't eat.
Most of what I've done are fairly bog-standard -the idea was that I'd put one recipe in for each letter of the alphabet then she can add to it when she wants.I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

I bought a fleece jacket (sort of thin tracksuit zipup jacket) for £1 in the Happit clearance shop we have, went up to homebargains and bought iron on diamonte pattern to put on. My daughter is dead chuffed with it so I'm off into town tomorrow with rough sizes to see how many girls in the family can get the same thing for christmas. They won't know the jackets only cost £1 so I reckon I could do quite a few pressies like this. If only boys would wear diamonte and I could have done them all, lol...
sounds fab would love to see a piccy of the finished article where did you get the iron on gems

Wish we had bargain shops like that around here......20 miles away is out nearest one -still, OH has hospital appointment on 9th so we'll try and fit in a bit of Poundland and Wilko shopping.........and maybe some charity shopping as well.
Did some more to scrapbook no.2 today (been too cold for anything in the garden) and I really must get a 'no cake sweet cake' thing done for grandson.
Think I'll just use oasis -bit small but it'll fit into a tupperware tub I've got so be ok for posting along with all his cooking bits and pieces. Have to get it done this week -his birthday is on 12th and I don't want to be too late posting it.I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

When my son was born (many, many years ago!) a friend bought a plain glass bauble and simply painted his name and 'Baby's 1st Christmas' on it, and put a small picture of a teddy on it. It was so lovely to have a personalised thing that someone had taken the time to make. We still have it, and still hang it on the tree each year. I think you can get baubles that you can fill now too, so maybe a small bootee, or mitten in the appropriate colour inside?

For my grandson, when he was born, I bought a little scrapbook and filled it with little quotes and images about babies, growing up, mums and dads, stuff like that. His mum and dad were thrilled and it'll be something for him to keep and read when he's older.
Well, bit more scrapbooking today then went on a hunt round the house for a round plastic tub with a lid. I knew I had one upstairs among my stash..........could I find it ? No way:mad: Began to think I must have thrown it out.................just had another look and there it was, in the box of grandsons birthday cooking stuff...............lol
Thats what I wanted it for...........making one of those 'no cake cakes'.........thought I could use the round oasis, wrap it in cello pop it in the tub and it'll post in one piece (hopefully)...............:j
So, tomorrows project is to cover the plastic pot with some kiddy type paper I've got.I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !
