Maryop - you know how you felt woolen clothes into... felt? Well I don't yet but hope to learn as it is a lovely effect, Warm Fuzzies is a gorgeous looking book of things to make with that feltHope that made sense
I cracked this morning and bought the warm fuzzies book! I am so excited!

whoopidoo..........ummm.........not sure I know about 'felting' woollens apart from when they go through the wash a few times and come out a bit thick..........is that it ?
I've got a cardigan like that I'm intending to make a bag out of and maybe some leg warmers (said I'd do it last year and didn't get round to it)I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Today I picked up a new mag from WH Smiths. It does say 'New Launch' on the cover so it must be new. It's called Simply Handmade and is a small square magazine, almost like a book. It's £5.99 but I felt it was worth it after flicking through and seeing what was inside and the quality of the mag. With mags these days tending to be sealed into plastic you never quite know what you are getting, so I was glad to be able to have a flick through.
The website shown on the front cover of the mag is www.simplyhandmade.co.uk however when you go to this, it take you to a domain registration page???
Anyway, googling it has given the link to their Australian counterpart
http://northridgemedia.net/blogs/simplyhandmade/ and this blog likewise is full of inspiration.0 -

I also saw in Boots some cupcake flannels: they were white with pink binding round the edges, rolled up in a cupcake type case, with a lipbalm in the middle. They looked very effective and I nearly succumbed till I realised they were £1.75 half price, and I could probably make them a bit cheaper. Not sure that my daughters or sis in law would use a flannel either, so I'll experiment with the 25p ones from Wilkinsons for them.
Instead of a flannel why not try slipper socks? I did this for my mum and it more or less looked the same **away to check if I took any pictures**
I told my mum today that I was starting to make/do things for Xmas 2010 today and she laughed at me  Oh well lol.0 -

oOo Nikki, how did you do the slippery bit at the bottom?? the ones i've got have and the ones I saw have little 'glue dots' on them, but no idea how you do them lol

nikki2804: yes, that's a good idea, but I'd have to buy the slipper socks as I don't think I'd be much good at making them, and that would bump the price up. Good thought though... I did see some in Poundland before Christmas, bet they haven't got them now!
chillin_nutter: I think the bits on the bottom are the non-slip things that stop you sliding about everywhere. No idea how you'd do those, although maybe getting some silicone glue and glueing little dots on them would do it?
I bought a white flannel in Tesco today for 25p, and a clear bauble with pink & lilac bath fizzers in, which I'll use for the 'topping' of the cake, hopefully it will look like a cherry! Was wondering what to use for the 'cake case' till someone mentioned silicone cake cases in Poundland... I thought about using one of those protective things they put on take away coffees... a sleeve of some sort, and covering it with pretty paper. I'll have to have a play...Keep Calm and Carry On Kondoing

Loopychris - I seen slipper socks in Primark/Matalan or the such and they weren't too bad (I know some places wanted £3 a pair ) Wilko's had some too, try New Look, they had some in there sales.
When I put the little dots on the socks (technical terminology of course) I just used something in a tube that a fellow crafty inlaw gave me. Will inquire the name but it was some rubbery stuff (stunk until it dried mind you)0
