loopychriss: have you got a copy of the Hobbycraft magazine? It has vouchers in the back for £5 off a £25 spend etc. It helped to make the vouchers I had for Christmas go further!

I'd like to join in too, if I may. I knitted a few pressies this year - socks and wraps. Also made some stuffed hanging hearts as decorations using remnants of Christmas fabric and then sewing on some of the decorations I'd saved from last year's crackers. Would like to branch out a bit more for 2010!

There are so many lovely ideas here it's hard to know what to do first!!!!
  • Hiya, i'd like to join in, I tried this last year, and didn't really get myself in gear, but definately want to try better this year, and a whole fresh new year to start with woohoo!

I only just started knitting last year, and only do simple things. My first project was a bag that I knitted for my gran with a lovely little knitted bow, and a matching purse.... she loves bags, and loves anything homemade that we've made for her, also made her a coaster and a mug cozy which were chunky and looked really cozy was actually rather jealous I wanted to keep it lol!

I'm planning on using my knitting skill a bit further this year. I want to make a scarf or 2 for my niece and one for my nephew....I did buy some fancy yarn but it's so difficult to knit with i'm thinking of either just giving it away or try and sell it for my money neutral ;) lifestyle.

I did knit a mini stocking which I'm going to stuff with homemade jewellery for my niece next year and some boyish things for my nephew.

Definately want to make some chunky knit socks - I saw a pair in a local shop and thought ...hmm i could knit those... so i'm on the hunt for some lovely pastel chunky wool and some nice big wooden buttons. Also if anyone can help.... I want to make these into slipper socks, and I noticed they had little, well the only way i can describe it is, glue dots on the bottom, can anyone tell me how I can do these???

Going to make a few things that have been mentioned on here, but only really to those that appreciate homemade stuff.

I'd like to get some of the books you ladies have bought on amazon, but totally skinned, and tried on our library online catalogue and couldn't find it anywhere!! :(

Anyways keep up all the good ideas, can't wait to really start getting going with this. xx

  • Can I join in for next year? This christmas I only crafted 1 thing which was a scrapbook for my boyfriend of what we have done since we have been together.
Next Christmas I am planning on making sock Cupcakes as my 99p shop has silicone cake cases, the sock monkeys look cool so the littlies will be getting them.

I dont have the concentration span to cross stitch at the moment but love photography and digital scrapping so I think what I might do for dad and stepmother is a photo collage in a large frame of me over the past 29 years so that they have the memories too.
Of all the things I have lost I miss my mind the most

    whoopidoo - I'm intrigued..........whats fuzzy felting ??

Well, today I sorted out an A5 notebook to write down all the odds and ends I intend to have a go at........started off with what I'd done this year so I don't repeat it.

Make more 'primitive' hearts/stars etc. from kitchen curtain -also maybe buy some wooden ones and 'distress' them
Tic tac snowman -only made one as didn't like how it turned out but it was so well received its worth doing some more maybe
Beach hut cross stitch coaster for my son (lives by the sea)
Undo old cardigan and try to make bag and leg warmers from it
    Bowls from Vinyl records
    Cover cheap diaries
Shopping list and calendar that hangs on wall
Calendar to put family photos in

Think thats it...........till someone comes up with something else I can 'borrow'....................lol
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

That is a good idea! I will dig out and old notebook and start keeping notes, saves duplicating gifts each year too!

    Hi Folks,

Great to see so many new faces joining the group, and lots of former lurkers finally having the courage to post too, good to hear from you! Look forward to seeing lots of new ideas, links and photos of all your wonderful creations. I'm one of the no-sew or knit brigade so will be on the hunt for gifts without picking up any needles!

Following on from the successful no-sew fleece blankets, I found this hat while blog hopping:

(Apologies if anyone has already posted this before).

The instructions for making it (in just 10 minutes!) are here:

    Anyone fancy a go?

qwiksave - I'm another no-knit, no sew person (though can do a bit of sewing by hand long as its basic and simple) Not sure about the hat............have to have another look at it.................its a super creation.........wouldn't mind one myself but I'm wondering what mine would turn out like...............not like the picture I'd imagine..................lol:rotfl:

While I'm on here............I'm going to attempt a cross stitch of a beach hut to turn into a coaster for my son...........promised myself I'd drag my water colours out next year and wondered if a water colour would be ok inside a coaster.

I LOVE the idea of no sew crafts!

I found this on the site posted above
