Crafting for Christmas 2010, lets begin again......

Did a few homemade items this year, wine and personalised labels went down a treat (sorry for not getting back to one member with a template this year, it was a bit hectic in the run-up to Christmas), boxes of homemade sweeties and hampers.
Next year I plan to make a quilt for the hubby and I for watching tv, because our girls keep pinching our blankie, but I think that will be a "when I've got the time" thing. Make some soaps, scrubs and salts for a hamper. Make my girls some homemade jewellery; sock monkeys, more adventurous homemade wine, homemade baileys, more sweeties because they went down a treat and some individual Christmas cakes, iced and personalised. I would also like to make some homemade mince pies after seeing the delicious recipe on Gordon Ramseys Christmas show and I would love to knit scarves but alas I cannot knit (unless you count finger knitting???) I should make my own cards, because I (occassionally) design and make change of address cards, birthday invites and door signs and sell them on ebay, but my umph has left recently and I haven't done it in over a year, besides I picked up some beautiful cards in the sales for 50p on boxing day!!
I am sure there are many more things that I would like to do, I just haven't thought of them yet lol.Starting weight 17st 4lb - weight now 15st 2lbs
30lb lost of 30lb by June 2012 :j:j:j (80lb overall goal)0 -
Hi Folks,
Some people on the old thread said they would be joining in a scrapbooking project with me in the new year. I have updated my blog with some more info. Join in if you feel you can and if you have a blog, please leave a link to it on my blog
The aim for me is to make a scrapbook to give as a gift to my parents (was going to be for Christmas, but now thing it might be a nice idea to give them on our wedding day, one for my parents and one for the in-laws), so if you fancy it, beginners or advanced, come and join in, it is free, it is not a class, but hopefully it will provide some inspiration for you here

wow there's so many great ideas coming in already, i must start taking notes I'm losing track, may sit and create a list in my notebook tomorrow. I think I will definitely make pots of gold and snowman soups again as these were so greatly received, also the two Christmas eve hampers i made were really appreciated, so i may make a few for relatives birthdays throughout the year!0

Oh my it's so busy on here already!!!!
Well count me in! I loved the 2009 thread!
Sethsgran - sorry to hear that ((hugs))) thinking of you.
The reindeers went down well, as did the snowman soups. Will probably do them again this year. Made the normal Christmas cake etc.
Got lots of ideas that I didn't get around to doing this year. Also that I didn't actually get around to making Christmas cards. I'm back at uni part time so I'm planning to do lots of the crafting in the Summer when I have no lectures/work etc. That's my grand plan...Watch this space
I have 6000 words to write in the next couple of weeks so will have to put this on the back burner until then. Unfortunately I find this a bit more exciting so have to stay well clear of this siteBut then I will start planning my craft bits. I can hear OH groaning already!
I just went on Lakeland site and got some lovely cellophane I think 12inch square 3x clear, red anf green reduced to £1.99. Some Xmas cellophane bags (presents, snowmen on) 20 for 75p, also they had some tissue paper packs of red and green (£1.99 for 24 sheets) and silver swirly one £2.49 for 25 sheets. I'm thinking those may come in useful for hampers next year. In M&S I got star shaped bath pearls bright colours thought they might come in useful for a flannel invention, I think 24 were £2.50 reduced for £5. But that's all so far.:j Baby boy arrived 22nd August 2012 :j

I've just ordered a few small bits and pieces to add to homemade craft projects from M&S. Today they've got an extra 30% off all sale items (so 80%) in total. Bargain!0

Getting my shelves and desks cleared today. They have been covered in advent calendars and Christmas bits for weeks so no crafting been going on. You lot have got me so inspired already, can't wait to get started. I've put that Homestyle Tilda book on my wishlist - I have a tenner Amazon voucher so may treat myself. Can anyone recommend any other books? In particular more unusual, quirky or even slightly gothic crafts? But any craft books in general?:staradminHuuuuuuge thank you hugs to all posters:staradmin0

This is the first thing I made from the Tilda books.
Its a cute lamb... its made from terry towelling in the book but I bought a lovely soft throw and used that to make him up, the hands, feet and face are made from fawn linen blend material.
He was fun to make and didn`t take that long although the stitches were hard to see in the fluffy material.

Count me in please. I am going to try and start some projects early this year. My hampers went down very well and so did my home made choccies. I would love to try and make a blanket with arms so might have to get my sewing machine out and make myself one as a tester!!V 12500 B 8300 N 1900 Oct £51/£1550
