Thanks for the nice feedback on my bunnies. they are for an easter party tomorrow, hopefully they will be well received.

My housewarming gift for the hostess, was going to be a bouquet of cleaning cloths but ended up as a basket....

    P1010062.jpg

    P1010059.jpg

    Lessons learnt:

*dusters look good as roses. Cloths with no edging are not as good.
    * florists tape is tricky to use
    * florists wire is too thin to take the weight of a cleaning cloth and bends over
    * taping the wire into the flowers is even more tricky.
    * youtube lulled me into thinking this would be easier than it was :(

What a great idea for a gift :T Well done you :)

Deejane/Giggles - how did you attach the wires?

deejane - how did you get your bouquet to work. I could not get the wire to hold the rose head up - it drooped too much and fell off. :(
I dont use wire i use BBQ sticks :)

  • Well done Katsu - that basket is fantastic - what a lovely present:T

PS I can never use the florists wire either and have also resorted to bbq sticks!

Finally finished reading back through the whole thread, my head is swimming with ideas! I've stored loads of blogs in my favourites folder and made a Word document with links and ideas on. I'm quite excited because since Christmas I've been having some personal stuff going on and had basically lost the motivation to do anything, let alone anything crafty, but I'm getting inspired by everyone's lovely ideas :) Here's a bit of a brain dump...

I bought a clip photo frame with a white backing from the flea market yesterday, and am going to glue clear glass pebbles on it, like Jamtart's (I think, sorry if I'm getting mixed up) blog. I want to do a photo wall with loads of mismatched frames in a shabby chic style. A bit like this, but without the Z's frame-300x300.jpg

Like I said in my previous post, the lovely lacey scarf will be next on the list. I've been having a good look around jumble sales, flea markets, car boots and charity shops recently so will be keeping my eyes out for crafty materials and things I can change and customise as my next project! I'd love to find a tin of old vintage buttons or a bag of fabric and ribbon scraps to work with.

I have been saying this for about 6 months, but I promise I will learn to crochet and make Amigurumi. It's absolutely driving me mad that I've looked in books, watched youtube vids etc and I still end up with a snarl of tangled wool. But I won't let it beat me! I'd also like to try knitting, but one infuriating thing at a time ;)

Some of you from last year's thread might remember me talking about making a felt totem for my OH for Christmas. After Christmas came and went and it wasn't done, it was meant to be a Valentines present. And then finally it got finished (a few days late) for OHs birthday on March 26th  Oh the shame! He liked it though!

Lastly, the one crafty thing I did recently was a Mario cake for aforementioned OHs birthday, here's some photos

Oh, and I just remembered (sorry if you're bored to tears by now!) I've started doing some small Hama Bead projects. This is kind of embarassing because I mentioned it on Facebook and some people said they were for kids and all, but once I buy some more black and browns I hope to do a really big project. Some of the ones people do look amazing! For Christmas this year I'm already planning to give some Hama Bead gifts away, they lend themselves really well to old 8 and 16 bit computer game characters, and nearly all of my friends love stuff like that, so it should go down well.

Sorry for rambling on a bit :o Not even really Christmas crafts related but just needed to spill some of my ideas out as they have nowehere else to go!
