    Hi All,

I've finished my cake plate stand! (well, apart from making cakes for putting on it! :D) :j

    Here it is:

I used a glass candlestick so I wouldn't have to paint it.

Further details are on my blog.

qwiksave that is soooo gorgeous. Well done :T I bet that would cost a fortune in a vintage/antique shop.

Well, I finally started hubby's Christmas present tonight. I want to make him a cross stitch picture of beach huts: I've got a pattern for 5 different ones, each one can be used to make a card, but if they're all sewn on the same piece of fabric it will make a picture. I haven't got all the silks I need yet, but I sorted out a few I did have and made a start.

I went to my patchwork/quilting group tonight and took it there to do. If I do it at home he'll see it, so I'm going to take it every fortnight to my group and work on it there, also any evenings that hubby goes out. Hopefully, as I've made such an early start, I'll get it done in plenty of time for Christmas, but going on past experience, I wouldn't hold my breath!

Thanks MicH and Karmacookie for the links to the patterns. And thanks Qwiksave for the info about the glue. I can get that kind of glue in Wilkinsons so will grab some next time I am up the town.

*quiksave* that looks really lovely, and I like the idea of a glass base, I have bought a plate from a second hand place, it's all christmasy so will be on the lookout now for the right candlestick to go with it.

I am going to make some cards this weekend, probably a mix of birthday and Christmas, then I have a cookie recipe I just have to try!

I`m trying to post a picture here

            ?action=view&current=stigtoothbrushes.jpg

I`ve been on the top gear trail again, I bought two toothbrushes for 10p in Sainsburys and put some letters on, gave them a paint with craft gloss to keep them on, not bad for 5p and a little time
