Had a quick Google as I remembered seeing some cupcake pin cushions that looked good, http://www.stitchingcow.com/patterns/121/My+Little+Cupcake+Pincushion+Patterns

Edited to add, where do you buy the glue stuff to stick the plate and candlestick together?
You can get the glue from most DIY or local hardware shops. I got Araldite which is two tubes that you mix together, its very good. (It worked on the plate, I've done it!) Not cheap, but its the sort of thing that will come in useful for all sorts. (If you have a partner, he may have some in his tool box
). It glues metals, woods, ceramics, glass and plastics. It comes in different types too, I got the Extra Strong to be on the safe side.

I did it !!!! I made a button necklace !!!!:j:j:j
After days of wittling on and getting in a tizz I just grabbed a load of mums buttons in random colours, threaded them together thinking, what the heck if it don't work, and it looked ok.............even OH thought so and managed to control his phobia of buttons for a brief look.....................lol
So, looks like everyone will be getting button necklaces and bracelets this christmas...........very mse as they're mums old buttons, I used some thread I'd got this morning but will need to buy more, plus elastic cotton........but total cost won't be much at all.
Found a belt I'd bought from charity shop for 50p lurking in the drawer...........took the copper floral designs bits off and threaded one on a leather cord........enough for another four !!!:j
Just need to collect all my pill packets (when I've finished taking them) and I can cover them with pretty paper and pop the necklaces in. Also very mse............got the tablets anyway (repeat prescriptions) and paper left over from last year.
With OH not able to work we need to have a very low budget christmas and so far I think we're getting there.I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !
