That's very colourful and bright! I would be careful mixing glass and young kids though.

Bit of advice, (whichever type of these you make) always make sure you pick up the stand from the base, not the plate, just in case the glue doesn't hold.

Ah yes I know, used to be a teacher so always have safety issues embedded! My niece is nearly 8 and we sat and did this together, she was very impressed with herself, and it's going to be wrapped up for mothers day. I am going to do do a grown up version for my sister next

sams - thats lovely and how nice to get your niece involved :T

Well all I've done is cover a Vic vapour rub box with floral paper and try and concoct a football themed key ring for my son with some wooden beads already threaded off a belt I'd got and one of those buttons that looks a bit like a football. Three times I tried to sew it through the cord on the beads and three times it fell off:mad: Ended up putting the button through the actual key ring and it looks ok...............now why didn't I think of that in the first place
Foster daughter called round on her way to the garden centre to pick up some plant marker sticks.............I was longing to say 'don't -I got you some for your birthday'....................still, they'll get used.

Shan't be doing much tomorrow as its OH's scan and we're having a bit of retail therapy before we get to the hospital..............4 hours with nothing to eat or drink, least browsing roung the shops will pass the time.
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Hope all goes well today Mary (everything is crossed for you). That 4 hours will be tough for your OH -all that shopping! (Only joking!) That woud be torture for my DH, he hates shopping though.

I made another christmas card (thats 3 now! :D).

                    Hi All

Im loving the cake stands and have decided today is such a nice day that I'm going to get my household chores done (thankfully nesting has kicked in so its only little things i need to do!) and then I will sit down and finish my mums cross stitch off.

Hoping after that is done that I might be able to make a few more towards xmas to hold vouchers etc.

Wow you lot have been busy. Loving everything though. I've been busy with my Alice in Wonderland makes. Ended up handstitching the tissue holder - I don't know what I did to the sewing machine but I ended up making the whole bobbin case fall out and now I can't work out how it goes back in with out the needle jamming! Aargh.

Quite pleased with my tissue holder though as am not the best hand sewer in the world... have lots of pinpricks in my hands today :P

I'll post piccies when the light gets better.
