    I found something else!:j I'm on a roll..

These would make nice christmas presents - maybe with some homemade christmas goodies on them and sealed with cellophane?

A plate stand made yourself  with a painted brass candlestick and plate! :T
    Simple!

Here is where I found it:

Anyone care to have a go?

Oooh that is so pretty! Bookmarked to my ever expanding list :P Actually managed to make one practise tissue holder off the list the other day before I promptly broke the sewing machine needle *sigh* Can't even show the holder as middle dd2 snitched it and has been taking it to school every day!

Wow this thread is very hard to follow for a newbie!! I leave it for a few days and feel like I have missed so much when I get the chance to get back on!!

I have been very busy crafting and made a few little key rings, necklaces ect... and even had a local shop ask to have a dew bits in store for sale! So very chuffed!

Want to do something different to my usual gifts this year and have seen so many nice ideas on here! I just dont know where to even start!!!

    diso queen - well done.
What sort of necklaces and key rings are you doing ?
I did key rings last year with little post it note holders on and fancied something different.
Been attempting a button necklace and bracelet thats been driving me silly and wondered if I could do something with buttons/key ring........feel the male side of the family missed out on the key rings last year
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

At the moment I have done a few cross stitched union jack keyrings in pink for family members with a nice pink floral paper behind it.. Hard to explain but you know the kind that you can put your own piccies in? And some mother of pearl-esque bead and button charm like necklaces and bracelets.

I love the button jewellery but not had a go myself (dont have enough buttons, partner has a phobia of them!) :( May have to get some and hide them as defintately look like they would be worth it! :rotfl:How have you been doing yours? With wire through every button or like this?
www. grainnemorton. co. uk < these look quite simple and I may have a go to start!

disco queen - thanks. Just had a look at that link. Mine are nowhere near as nice as those. I'm trying to be very mse and use what I've got at home -mums button jar and some strong thread. My buttons aren't that special but I think if I get the colours right it'll work but the blessed things won't stay the right way round. Been driving me silly.
Not helped by my OH also having a phobia about buttons.............lol:rotfl:
I copied a couple of links in My Favourites
    www.buttonjewellery.co.uk
    www.pinefeather.typepad.com.

I know the sort of key rings you mean now. I was thinking of doing something with some leather braiding I've got.......maybe some sort of button arrangement one end and key ring part the other.
Be a case of trial and error I think but I'm determined to have a go.

I know what you mean my partner has one, I didnt make it, but it would be quite easy...
One piece of leather thong which is looped around the keyring and has a metal crip about 1 cm down and then there are two dangly bits to add beads or buttons to which have knots in. Not sure that makes sense.. I need to get myself a blog to put piccys on! lol

I want to make one of the cake stands, I have been thinking of doing some pin cushions that look like cup cakes if I can work out a pattern so one of these stands would be great for showing them off.

Also love the idea of the button bracelets, will get some black elastic for threading if I see some while I am out. My sister in law gave me a tin of old buttons last year so have plenty of them.

Edited to add, where do you buy the glue stuff to stick the plate and candlestick together?

I have to confess I've been lured by the dark side........... I have spent many days avoiding all crafty activity and have been indulging in cooking, trying out a few good and tasty recipe's and have been completely seduced by warm chocolate, good soup and hot butter beans. Sorry guys, will try and resist....... and get back to my needle and thread and glue gun just as soon as I can
