Ok, I'm back - boy that was hard to get up for work this morning! Been reading all the bits that went on since I went away, some lovely things out there - love those cakes! I am still sewing my quilt but have also been distracted making up some Valentines boxes for the kids (all in their 20's but hey ho).

I'm off to Sainsbury's at lunchtime, I am going to have a look-see fore those scarves too...

          1. Hello!

I have been reading through all your ideas and they sound fantastic!

Last year I followed a similar thread and for the first time ever I made some gifts… I made my nephew a cushion cover with his name on and a train on it, I made the dog and my OH personalised Christmas stockings. I also made most of the adults in my family and friends ‘lucky pot of gold’ – which consisted of a scratch card, chocolate coins, ferrero rochers, gold-plated 2p pieces bought from eBay, mini Baileys bottles and personalised gifts such as mini gold Buddhas, a lucky fish tank ornament or lucky cufflinks.

I really enjoyed making everything, I found that because I was organised I was less stressed, I spent less money and everybody was so chuffed with their pressies! I am hoping that I can do something similar again this year… I have already recycled some old wine bottles to make “birthday bubble baths” for my friends… so the crafting is still there in the background… I just need to think of some new ideas.

I can’t knit or sew very well and I am moving into my boyfriend’s flat next month where space will be limited, but I hope that I will be able to come up with some fun, personalised gifts to make!

          3. Hello! I'm new round here but I've been reading this this post since it started and loving all the ideas so I thought I had better introduce myself. "Hello!" :-)

I'm keeping a note of all the lovely crafts but I think getting round to actually making the things will be another matter! I'm full of good intentions!

I did have a go at the knitted mittens / wrist warmers that were mentioned a few pages back. I've never knitted ANYTHING before and I was really please with how they turned out! (Thanks in no small part to my Mum's excellent tutoring!) I have to confess I didn't cast on or off though so I *almost* knitted them all myself! (Thank you again Mum!) I'll save learning how to cast on and off for the next pair I make! :-)

I'll keep an eye out for some suitable Christmas crafts and post here to share.

            Happy crafting everyone!
            xx

That is EXACTLY my problem lol...
I have made 2 pocket tissue holders and I am thinking that if I make them slightly bigger they will make nice soft glass holders.. or maybe I could have a go at the pencil wrap. I have been making tiara's for presents and I have also been eating lots! Would love to know who's blogs have recipes on please

By the way, for everyone who is thinking of ways to keep links and stuff, if you go to www.evernote.com and sign up, you can make loads of notes, filed as you want, and it's accessible from anywhere. I love it as it means I can save all those links in categories and don't have them on my favourites on a particular computer or anything. Sorry have not explained very well but worth a look anyway.

As you can see I'm WAY BEHIND (7th January 2010 ) but just had to say a wee thankyou to elyphant for this link. Off to sign up just now.

Karren - may be way to late for this but have your checked out DROPS designs for fingerless gloves

Is it just me or do you all spend so much time reading everyones posts here and blog-hopping that you don't have any time to make anything at all.
