liesa and whoopi -you're not on your own - I put my 'lows' down to hassle with mobile phone/no signal etc. but could be the fact that its as grey as can be outside - OH is surprisingly cheerful though.......could be because his football team won:rotfl:
sethsgran - super notebook covers...........I never think of lovely ones like that:(
Still, did do one for my friend in fabric but did it like we used to at school -folded over and stuck down then put plain fabric over the inside of the front cover to hide any faults.I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

susan - thanks for the ideas - looked at the price of kids aprons  I don't have a machine but think neighbours daughter does (she's doing textiles as gce) might as her to make one for me.
Candy - don't do you believe it..........I'll fit a gravy tub in among it all somewhere ..................lol
You could adapt a teatowel to make an apron.... sew a channel on short edge then thread ribbon through and sew two lengths of ribbon at waist height to tie round back!:jPobodys Nerfect:j0 -
Queenbee - what a good idea:T Hadn't thought of that. I should be able to do that ok by hand. Thanks for that :jI would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

I made a cover by cutting 2 pieces of fabric a little bigger than the book to allow for seams lay the fabrics wrong side together with wadding inbetween if you want the padded effect. I then cut 2 equal size pieces to make flaps on inside front and back, on an A4 folder size I would cut the flaps about 6" wide. Then on the front flap I hemmed the right vertical edge, and the opposite edge on the back. I laid all pieces flat with outside first, wadding, inside cover and then flaps. Pin all together and also I pinned on the right side bias binding. machine all round making sure that all layers are secured within the stitching. Then hem the bias over to the inside of the cover, thus covering you raw edges. Hope this isn't too difficult to visualise. You can also sew ribbon etc for fastening before the sewing with the machine.Nothing Changes if Nothing Changes0

I am looking for an idiots guide to covering a notebook with fabric if anyone can point me in the right direction ?
Thanks in advance
Shaz
How about this one? Looks simple to make and gorgeous - I made some at Christmas, covering them in wallpaper scraps or old maps (didn't brave using fabric but will do now!)
Please note I didn't make this (I wish) but pinched the pic from the lovely Craft Blog. Think I'll give it a go though... Good luck and post a pic if you make one
