Anyone not going to buy anything in the sales and avoid them

I'm probably gonna get shot, but I love the sales!! To be honest, I'm not one that traipses round the shops (my worst nightmare), however, I have been bobbing and weaving round a number of online sales to see what bargains I can get. And to be honest, I've probably saved a small fortune.
My 5 year old son has ended up with a new wardrobe full of clothes (approx 7-8 different pairs of jeans, 4 jumpres, socks, underwear, t shirts, 2 big winter cardi coats) for just over £100 if i include cashback. These will last him probs about 18 months with the sizes Ive got him.
I've also done disney store, for toys and clothes. Not stuff he needs, but rather stuff that i want to be able to give him as treats, so when he does well at school etc. Again toys that were £20+ reduced to £3-4.
I'm waiting for the boots 70% off to start, so I can stock up on gifts for next xmas, or just birthdays or occasions through the year. The good thing about this is I have a 'loose' set of requirements, so if its cheap and looks presentable, it'll go in my basket.
Ive taken advantage of M&S glitches, Thorntons Glitches, body shop glitches, codes, cashbacks, the S&G offer, my cashback account will probs pay for next years christmas, and All my bank accounts are still in credit. I'm a single working mother, that doesnt earn a huge wage, but have still been able to spoil my son and loved ones.0 -

I got a gorgeous pair of black leather riding boots on New Look's website, £70 reduced to £35. I'd been lusting after them but decided they were too dear. Lo and behold, there they were in the 50% sale on Christmas Eve, yahoo! I can't wait to get them delivered as I have already tried them on and they are fab. Just go to their site and search for 'riding boot'. HTH. :TGet to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

I havent been very impressed with the sales this year but ive still managed to pick up a few things and save myself some money

I'm due to exchange and complete on my first flat during the first week of January, so im trying to do some forward planning for presents this year. I also lost my job in August and had to take much less paid job, so im struggling at the moment
I've always been quite generous with gifts for friends, spending more than i should but in return i dont get the same.
I know that sounds ungrateful and its the thought that counts but when i buy someone a Body Shop gift set for £15 and they buy me a notebook, it makes me question myself
So in order to save money and still buy nice presents ive managed to buy some lovely presents for between £4 and £9. Plus gift bags for 1p :rotfl:I always seem to buy smellies for people, so ive decided to start buying different and more practical items now.
These being photo frames and leather jewellery boxes from Boots, beautiful sequin jewellery wraps from Monsoon, lovely jewelled mirrors from Monsoon and a few nice sequined photo albums from WHsmiths.
I also make my own jewellery so i can always make something extra for them
I think this is quite a good balance, my friends still get nice presents & wrapping but i get to save money on them :T
Good luck to everyone trying to save money!Saving my pennies for my wedding on 10th August 2013!

I normally avoid the sales like the plague and would still not thank you to rummage with millions looking through random rails of clothes looking for something that may just fit and that you may like but are only buying for the sake of a bargain.
I hate clothes shopping at the best of times.
Have bought a kitchen yesterday in sales though!!
Have had our kitchen designed by B & Q and was hanging on for the extra 15% off which made it quite reasonable.
My first brand new kitchen ever so quite excited

I got a stunning coat in Debenham's sale back in April. As it's lovely and warm, it meant it hung in my wardrobe until the cold weather returned, but hey, I paid just over £20 (the price of a cheapie Primark coat) for a coat that originally cost nearly £200 :j!Casperthefriendlyghost wrote: »May have to buy a new coat next winter, but will wait till next year's sales or go shopping in NYC for thanksgiving sales end of next year if the budgeting and debt payments go according to plan.

Generally. I have far too much "Stuff," so plan on using up my store- cupboards / freezer / bathroom cabinets rather than filling them with yet more.
As far as clothes go, just need to lose those few pounds to fit back into some lovely stuff I've already got, (bought at bargain prices, including car-boots etc
) I'm sure I'm not alone in buying clothes that are "A bargain" that then sit, unworn
. Worst offenders being stuff we keep "For best," whether it's perfume, wine or that sexy t-shirt. Worse things will have happened in the world today..."The only thing that really matters, it to love and to be loved."0
