Can you prove that accusation with facts then?
No need. This is only an internet forum, not a court of law. People can say whatever they like within reason and we can choose how much faith we have in their statements.
Tesco will only make big profits if they can offer cheap prices. The only people left in the chain to subsidise this activity are the suppliers.
    Can I help?

Our sat nav won't search for Tescos stores specifically, but when you'r out and about, if you do a search for local fuel stations it will pop up with the larger ones.

Which GPS system are you using? the point of interest file I made available is for Tom tom but I expect I may be able to sort them out for an other system.

    Just a FYI.

Apart from some very good prices across the cheapie range of DVDs are a few boxed sets with item pricing that seems wrong/old.

An oppotunity may exisit if there is something you like.

Can you remember which box sets?

I agree mostly with the above statement however, the cause of the big profits that tesco make is the consumer.

No one is forced to shop at tesco nor at any other supermarket. If people really objected to the business practices of any supermarket then they would refuse to shop in them.

The fact is that although there are some people out there that will not go into the supermarkets, the vast majority will and do on a weekly basis.

The evidence if there is any out there of the alleged ripping off of farmers will be provided by the competition commission enquiry that is currently taking place. This is the third such enquiry in the recent past and both previous enquiries have exhonerated the supermarkets.

    Interesting indeed.

It is an interesting argument. My view was based on this type of argument (obviously simplistic):
Tesco have a product which they buy for 90p and sell for £1. They need to make 10p profit for the shareholders.
Asda then start selling the product for 95p.
Tesco then feel the need to "beat the price" and sell for 94p. They can't cut the profit margin so their only option is to buy for 84p instead of 90p. Thus the squeeze on suppliers.

This issue gets even more emotive when one considers that Supermarkets were (are?) selling basic goods such as milk at a loss....

....in order to pull in the punters in the hope of securing customer loyalty and a weekly shop when you do in fact buy some Fillet Minions to go with your glass of white stuff.

But hey ho Dudes - this is the Tesco mis-price discussion thread - no room for Bob or Sting amongst the likes of us Dudes intent on sucking the life-blood that is Tesco's enormous year-on-year profits.......;)

Perhaps this ought to swing back on-topic............

Dude, don't you realise that R+Rers are the only reason that Tesco has to put the squeeze on poor third-world countries. Without the occasional free bit of meat or bonus laptop there would be no global warming, rainforest depletion or war and stuff ;)
I've seen similar stuff posted seriously though.

I don't suppose the bloke chairing the inquiry is the same bloke who chaired the David Kelly one, is it?
